Best Horror movie franchise

    I'm not terribly (no pun intended) into horrors, but every now and then i like a good scare.

    Thoughts?

    I think so. Scifi horror. But do you really want to put that in? Only the first three were good.

    I quite liked #4, even though I know most didn't. It was just an oddball movie. Not like any of the others, but I enjoyed it for what it was. Hell, Ridley even gave a nod to it in "Prometheus".

    Either way, they're all "Grapes of Wrath" compared to most on that list.

    Which one of those other franchises had more then 2 acceptable films?

    There really aren't any good horror 'franchises', as usually it's one great horror movie, and then a number of sequels telling pretty much the same exact story again. But if I had to pick I'd go with...


    Phantasm
    Hammer Films Dracula series with Christopher Lee
    Universal Studios Frankenstein series with Boris Karloff

    Good call. Loved those films!!!!!

    I would rank "SAW" as number 1, but not sure if they would be considered Horrors. They are more like thrillers.
