Fonfara vs Cleverly on Friday night

Am I the ONLY one who's aware of this fight and excited about it? I think this will be a good scrap. Fonfara obviously doesn't have the firepower of Kov, so Cleverly should certainly fare better in this one.

No but this forum is like the worst I know in terms of what fights get coverage via threads. It seems it's only when a big US boxer fights or something nice on showtime or HBO + Klitschko. This fight is also only relevant because Clev got spanked by Kovalev and Fonfara fought Stevenson and Chavez.

 

Yeah, this thread has certainly fallen off in terms of coverage. In this forum's heyday, EVERY upcoming fight had a thread and discussion. Now it's just big fights.

 

One thing i cannot get out of my head is Fonfara was behind on the Scorecards against Karpency, a guy Cleverly absolutely schooled. If Cleverly can somehow show up a little bit like his old self he could be outboxing the pole pretty easily. But he didn't look overly interested against Bellew in his last fight and Fonfara probably wants it MUCH more at this stage.

 

It's possible that Kov took Cleverly's soul, just like Froch took Groves' soul.

 

Cleverly's moment has passed...the first Bellew fight had already indicated that he was too hittable, just not quick enough at the highest level

 

I think Fonfara will win, and I suspect that afterwards he'll get a fight next year with Kov. And obviously, Kov will massacre Fonfara.

 

Fonfara did go 12 with Stevenson. Who punches harder? Kovalev or Stevenson?
