If that's your preference, I can't knock it. Just not mine.

I don't get it. When two fighters are squared off in the ring, it is actually hard to tell how big they are. It's not like one is 6 foot and the other is 5 feet. So what is the difference?

I couldn't even finish watching it with that stupid horror like music playing in the background. In fact it seemed more in the foreground.

Of course you can tell the difference...providing you know what you're looking at.

What you're saying is like a Pee Wee football team playing in Giant stadium and no one can tell the difference.

Actually no. If it were pee wee football the players would suck because they would all be children! So I do not understand your point all all (pretty sure you missed the mark with this one).

I'm now confident of a GGG victory. First round will start of slow and then quickly boil over into a war. Difference in the fight is that GGG has the better chin and the more fluid arsenal of punches. He'll have to go through the fire to win, but he'll stop him.

Definite FOTY candidate though, perhaps can only be surpassed by Cotto-Alvarez.

I'm so confident in a Golov win that I'd actually be shocked at a DL upset. It wouldn't be a Tyson-Douglas level upset, but it would be one of the biggest upsets of the last 15 years.

My heart is torn on who I WANT to win. I'm a fan of both, but I'd be happy if Lemieux won cause he's young, and the sport needs more YOUNG stars.

It ain't gonna happen though. Golov is gonna completely destroy him, and you're gonna see Lemieux badly hurt within the 1st or 2nd round.

I've always said boxers all look the same size on TV. Unless Robert Byrd or someone is reffing they look the same live as well.

Feather to middle are the most consistently entertaining weights though. Average flyweights aren't entertaining because they're not especially skilled and they're less likely to damage each other. Above super middle the fights and fighters start to get clunky and sloppy. A truly skilled HW and an offensive flyweight are rare but usually something boxing fans would like to see.

Agreed. Only I would extend up to lightheavyweights.

126-175 have traditionally been the most appealing divisions in boxing.

They'll never be a crossover star who weights less than the average 5'3 white girl does.

So do I respect Gonzalez for his skill and ability? Yes.

Will seeing Gonzalez ever excite me as much as seeing Golov or Kov? Hell no!

Will a flyweight fight ever excite me in the build-up as much as I'm excited for Canelo-Cotto? Hell no.

GGG by KO 2...easy fight...Lemieux is a fucking BUM!!! I don't know what it is.....GGG groupies trying to make Lemieux be a bigger threat than he actually is......Lemieus has some convince that he has improved dramatically since 2010-11..he hasn't.....Lemieux resume is as bad as GGG....

The "average light heavy weight contender" is on average inferior to the same kind of fighter at middle. LHW is where mediocre fighters with nice looking records start to get a lot more common and once you get to HW there's shitty "prospects" and fringe contenders all over the place.

That's what made Roy such a phenom in his prime. He was super dynamic in divisions that had become known as boring and average.

What kinda ignorant bullshit statement is that? 175 has produced the greatest fighters in history behind only 147, 160, and 135.

Overall, 175 has produced far more all time greats than 126, 130, 140, and 154.

In other words, it's the 4th most important division (below heavy) in history.

    TOTALLY ignorant statement!

I hear what you're saying but it's unfair to compare 175lbs in terms of # of all time greats with the Jnr/Super divisions, because the latter are all relatively new.

Silly conversation y'all are having anyway.

Look at a few of ATG's at the super/junior divisions like Pryor, McCallum, and Wright. All of them did solid work in other classes but are remembered most for their 'tween reigns. Roy Jones, Manny Pacquiao, JCC, arguably had their best wins and/or performances outside of the original divisions yet get somewhat "punished" for it even though they're looked at more favorably than the former three historically. Perhaps another 50 years from now a list of all time greats in the junior/super classes will have more substance. Today they're filled with guys that made pit stops or old timers that are placed in to fill out the list because of what they weighed "back then". To some people Rocky Marciano is an all time great "Cruiserweight".

Both guys look in tip-top shape, as expected. Surprised that Golov looks so much taller. Either that means Golov is taller than he's listed, or DL is shorter than he's listed. I think it's the later. Lemeiux is probably like 5'8.

    Golov KO 4-6.

The caption to that pic should be: "I must break you".

GGG looks like a Mini-Drago there.

Lemieux' hairstyle is badass though I must admit. I can't wait for tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched the live stream. Lemieux seemed somewhat nervous. He's been confident the entire build-up, but I think he's finally thinking "The fuck did I get myself into?"

Golov, as usual, was all smiles and all horrible English.

Btw, De La Hoya was considering coming out of retirement and challenging GGG. He must be mad.

He was never serious. He snorted a few lines, and decided to say something for attention.

I wouldn't get it personally, but it's bad ass for a tough guy, kinda like Mr T's haircut.

You're a contrarian anyway, you exist to say exactly the opposite of what someone else is saying. That's cool though, it's your thing. In another thread, I say millions of dollars would make me happy you have to chime in that it would make you miserable.

    It's your thing. Enjoy.

    lol, I did not.

I'm actually a fan of the undercut/sidecut hairstyle, but that one is pretty shit, at least from that angle. Lemieux is one GQ looking m'fer though:

Both guys look in top shape but now I'm starting to think this won't last past 5. Golovkin will likely overwhelm him early.

GGG is cute...but he's EWWWWWWwww next to Lemieux....if Lemieux get's lucky vs. GGG, then his promoter should really promote his cuteness..bring the bitches out to his next fight...match up well keep that piggy pooping..
