"El Chocolatito" González

This guy is good. Sorry if I missed another thread on his fella, merge if I did.

I'm not into the small fellas, at all, but this guy is a nightmare for anyone. Not even Pacquiao at his best throws as many punches.

 

I enjoyed his performance.

This kid's really good. I like his fighting style.

 

I like him too, but my favorite around that division is Juan Francisco Estrada who beat Brian Villora a couple years ago. He already lost a UD to Gonzalez though, but I'd love to see a rematch between the two.

 

Gonzalez is a superb talent and very few fighters can string together punches like he does. Unfortunately for him he's in a similar situation to Finito Lopez.

 

You get a pass on this one. ::

I think Fonfara and Cleverly each threw more punches on wednesday.

They are total shit compared to Gonzales, though.

 

It needs to be Inoue. He's the only guy with a chance.

 

Chuk-la-Tito IMO is a mix of Arguello perfect punching technique(not as beautiful as Arguello though) and Erik Morales just the way he let those punches go with no regard for what's coming back(doesn't mean he is defenseless he has good defense for someone who throws that many punches...but the bravado balls to the wall way he throws those punches...)

 

Between the Fonfara-Cleverly war, and the two virtuoso performances by Gonzo, and Golov, this was an excellent boxing weekend.

 

And we have TC next week to look forward to.

As well as Verdejo making his return from injury on Halloween night.

 

Viloria talked more than once about how crisp Gonzalez's punches were. That is what impressed me the most. His punches seemed to all land so clean. Like he has that sixth sense.

Gonzalez is a lot better than Golovkin

 

I fail to see how there's a big gap. They're both superb offensive talents. Both flawless footwork and positioning. Both great accuracy. Both solid defense. Both dependable chns. P4P, Gonzalez seems to have an edge in quickness, but Golov is a bigger hitter. So where's the huge gap?

Rigo has more longevity but I think he'll lose his spot if he faces Lomachenko.

Hard to say. Rigondeaux is alot older, far less active and hasn't faced the same level of opposition

 

Gonzalez is better offensively and defensively. Power is similar and level of competition is a landslide

Gonzalez's Ability to SEE Countering Opportunities FROM THE POCKET, is Uncanny...The Knockdown of Viloria was Such...& he had the Handspeed to Let Viloria Fire his Own Right 1st, Yet BEAT him to the Punch w/a Right...Saturday Night was REED's 2nd Time Having the Pleasure of Watching Dude Fight & he's as GOOD as it Gets...

It's Sad Gonzalez's Nationality, Size, the Fact he Doesn't Speak English, etc., Will Be Used as a Lame Ass Reason for So-Called "Boxing Fans" to NOT Gravitate Towards his Bouts...Sadder, the Networks will Likely LOSE Interest in Televising his Bouts, Eventually, if he's Unable to BUILD a Following of Some Sort...

i think the networks will become more and more interested in televising his bouts. everyone watching the fight over here was impressed by the guy and a few had never seen him before. he wont make huge money or become a ppv star, but i can easily see him getting to the level of carbajal and making a million or two per fight for some of the bigger ones down the line

 

Exactly. When he gets set he can unleashes a furry of amazing combinations that opponents can't really seem to do fuck all about. It's like he's live version of a Streeter Fighter 2 character in a boxing ring.

 

He was really good at cutting off the ring too. Good footwork.

 

He's brilliant, great performance on the weekend. I hope he's televised more often.

 

This was my second time watching Gonzalez and it has been a pleasure.He reminds me of Julio Cesar Chavez IMO

 

What was impressive about this chocolate coloured Hispanic is that Brian V came to FIGHT! Brian V was exerting some serious pressure and the chocolate coloured one simply took his time to figure things out and then started to throw and throw and throw and throw with ridiculous accuracy and volume. I think it was Max Kellerman who rightly said that at one point Villoria seemed to be waiting for El Chocolatito to pause so that he can mount an offence but the problem was that he that is of chocolate never paused.

 

Gonzalez is the only guy on the p4p list with a win over a fellow p4per. By the way, Canelo is now on the p4p list. How can Canelo be there and not cotto?

 

G.......Kell fucking Brook is in the TOP 10 p4p....Terrence Crawford deserve it more and he is on teh list but he has one victory against a guy everyone was saying was overrated all along...but at least Gamboa was A one talent.....while GGG is at #5 without having fought an A fighter...hell he hasn't fought a B level fighter...
