Benitez vs Curry at 147lbs

Perhaps the two most over-hyped fightbeat Welterweights. Who wins this?

Would be competitive but El Radar is smarter, and his ability to make someone miss and pay would carry for him.

 

Not half as over-hyped as Aaron Pryor.

 

Floyd is the most overhyped fighter in general. One forums, the media, everything

 

But not on fightbeat. Not like these guys.

 

You only call these two overrated on here cause there's people who believe they would have beaten your precious, invisible Floyd. That's the only reason you consider them overrated.

 

Not just that, they are picked over EVERY Welterweight that fought over the last 20 years. That's ridiculous.

 

I'm hard pressed to find a whole lot of welters that could beat an on game Benitez. The guy was a legit great fighter. His motivation or lack thereof is what held him back at times.

 

Head-to-head, yes, I would pick Benitez and Curry over every welter of the last 20 years. And there's nothing ridiculous about that.

 

You know what's REALLY ridiculous about calling Curry overrated? The brotha isn't even in the fuckin HOF! It's almost a crime if you think about it. He easily deserves to be in the Hall.

So, it kinda balances itself out if Curry is overrated on ONE forum. Since everywhere else he's forgotten and underrated.

 

He may not be in the hall of fame, but he's a legend in the halls of the bath houses!

 

Yet Arturo Gatti is in the hall of fame.

Another who IMO deserves the hall of fame is Esteban DeJesus despite his tragic ending. The guy was a brilliant fighter.
