This is fucking HILARIOUS! Canelo was just quoted as saying "Let him come to 155. My body isn't yet ready for middleweight."

Yet he's fighting for the LINEAL MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP of the world. So, assuming he beats Cotto, he'll proudly claim himself as the MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD, yet in the same breath claim he can't fight Golov at MIDDLEWEIGHT cause "He's not a middleweight".

Un-fucking-believable. Canelo and Cotto have officially declared themselves as the rulers of a NEW division. The Junior-ISH Middleweight champions of the world.

I'll bet anything that Canelo watched the fight last Saturday and said to himself, "Hell no!"

As Pacino said in Glengarry, "I swear, this is not a world of MEN."

I was ONLY rooting for Canelo against Cotto cause I falsely believed the Ginger had the balls to fight Golov. I was wrong. Now, I could care less which one wins.

Say what you want about LeMoo not being very good, but at least he has bigger BALLS than Canelo and Cotto.

Canelo will probably be near 170 come fight night but anything over 155 is "too big".

He ALWAYS comes into the ring at 170. And Golov always comes into the ring at 170.

Yet REED wants Golov to stop picking on these "little guys". So, Canelo and Cotto want Golov to come down FIVE POUNDS to fight for the MIDDLEWEIGHT championship, but they can't go any higher than that cause "They're not middleweights". And Canelo hasn't fought at 154 since losing to Floyd, cause he's not a junior middleweight anymore. YET, he's not a middleweight either.

So, what in the living FUCK are you then, Saul?

One of the most unbelievable situations we've ever heard and a blatant duck job.

What's happening is very clear. Canelo saw the fight on Saturday, probably pissed all over his red public hairs, but then heard the poor PPV numbers, and figures he has a chance to get Golov to drain himself.

So much for GGG/Cotto-Canelo in 2016. The winner will probably fight somebody like Liam Smith instead.

This is disheartening. I hope Canelo changes his mind.

I'd give Canelo a pass for that one, as seeing Khan get brutally KO'd always gets my stamp of approval.

But yes, Canelo and his peeps probably saw what GGG did to Lemieux and said "nah thanks...I'll skip that shit".

Hopefully he dominates and stops Cotto...for if he does he may have the confidence to fight GGG.

Mauricio Sulaiman has declared that the winner of this fight will be the "WBC Interim Junior Middleweight" title holder, the "WBC Super Junior Middleweight Super Diamond Belt Inaugural Champion For Life", and the "WBC Middleweight Super Champion In Hiding".

All of these titles will be encompassed on a single title belt. This will be a green belt, encrusted in cubic zirconium, with the centerpiece being a 3D Hologram presentation of Donny LaLonde attempting to cross a busy freeway on a pair of broken roller skates.

Based on those paltry PPV numbers, GGG has zero leverage.

He'll have to fight Canelo at the site and weight Canelo chooses.

Not that I agree with it but Canelo doesn't need GGG to put asses in seats and sell PPV's.

And before folks spout off the MSG attendance, remember those were heavily discounted in comparison to what Canelo tickets cost.

    I agree.

Same way (but not to that extent) Martinez had zero leverage in negotiating with Cotto, GGG will have to submit to Canelo's terms.

Canelo could make big money fighting top Welterweights, or Floyd coming back from retirement or other Middleweights etc. GGG, though becoming better known, still doesn't have a huge following...and need a defining fight.

I'm not questioning Canelo's leverage. Just his balls.

This catchweight era is a joke.

Sanchez has said a ton of times....GGG can make 154 to fight FLOYD....."Money" is gone....but PESOs Canelo is still around if they want to make the biggest money possible....and get that FAME and SUPERSTAR status that they WRONGLY claim a few days ago...they need to fight Cotto or Canelo at 154...156///

The more I think about it the more I agree with your position. If GGG wants the recognition then he has to sacrifice. GGG isn't a huge middleweight anyway...it's not like asking Kelly Pavlik to make 155lbs.

Canelo's failing that one. He always comes in at 170.

Yup, that too (156lbs though), but I want to see GGG vs Canelo first.

If Anyone's SURPRISED by this, They Clearly HAVEN'T Been Paying Attention...The Next Time Cotto/Canelo Display Genuine Interest in Facing GGG will Be the 1st Fucking Time...

Here's an Idea; How about Moving UP 8 lbs and Dominating THAT Division...Seems Pretty Obvious GGG's Done ALL He's Going to Be Allowed to Do at 160...The Choices are Simple; Dry Out to Cut 5 lbs, ENHANCE Your Legacy by Moving Up 8 lbs, or Thrill Your Collection of Male Concubines who are Salivating at the Notion of GGG-Willie Monroe II...

I'm surprised that it's coming from Canelo.

Everybody and they mama knows Cotto don't wanna fight Golov at middleweight. I didn't think Canelo was gonna pull that catchweight bullshit as well.

Come on.....WHY would Canelo move up to 160 if he can still make 154(it's becoming harder and harder it seems)??? After GGG who is there for him??? NOBODY....At 154 Canelo can take on any of the 147 pounders....he will have to fight 2-3 of those guys to make the same he would vs. GGG(maybe) but it's easy MONEY....
