I hope the film behaves as though the prequels never existed and bases itself upon the mythology created in the first three films.

 

What doesn't make sense to you?

The Prequels created a DIFFERENT mythology from the one that we learned in the original films. When I speak of the first three films Im speaking not chronologically, but when they were made.

And aside from the mythology...little things like Storm troopers....originally the weren't all fucking clones of Jango fett!!!!

Imagine that right after that scene where Kylo Ren talks to the charred Vader helmet, he removes his mask, two long amphibian ears pop out revealing a familiar face while shouting, "MEESAH BACK! MEESAH WILL AVENGE YOU, ANI!" :scared2:

Thinking about it, you might be right, as Abrams has a better film track record than Lucas or Irving Kershner or Richard Marquand! I just hope he was able to control his SW fanboy impulses and delivers an intelligent but fun, movie.

The thing is, that reminds you exactly how bad things had gotten with Lucas and exactly how shit those three movies were / are / will always be...

 

This. All three of them were a fucking joke. Someone needs to re-release them with the Binks parts deleted.

 

I can still remember back in 1999 watching 'The Phantom Menace' that was on an old VHS tape that had been passed round our workplace like cdogg's sister and I thought then "hmmm...what's wrong with this movie?"

Took me two more movier to finally get it...

 

Actually, someone did, but Lucas threatened with lawsuits and that version was removed from the internet. Maybe someone has it.

 

Nah...beyond that....someone needs to REMAKE them.

I have a theory that Kylo Ren was Luke's disciple, but he turned to the Dark Side by becoming fascinated by Darth Vader. Luke went hiding and Kylo is searching for him to kill him. I speculate the main plot point of the film is the search for Luke and who will find him first.

 

That sounds stupid.

 

what about this: Jedi knight and his apprentice lands on a desert planet and recruits an unknown 9 year old slave boy to win a race putting the fate of an entire planet on his hands. Not only he wins, he also destroys the invaders mothership and is called The Chosen One!

Before I thought that Finn (John Boyega) was the movie lead. Now I am convinced that it is Rey (Daisy Ridley) and that it is her hero journey from a scavenger 'no one' to Jedi Knight.
