HBO already co-signing the Ginger's shameless ducking of Golov. Trying to convince us that Bradley-Canelo is NOT a mismatch, when it still very much is.
I give it 3 months before Rios is spotted out partying with his buddy Maidana, with both weighing around 210.
FFH Provo is the last of the "Four Brawlers" still standing. Rios, and Maidana are retired, and Matty Ice looks done at the top level. The primitive truck that is Provo keeps pressing forward...
It's funny because Rios, despite his tough talk about how he's a "warrior" and all showed his quitting side against Pac when he basically ADMITTED to "not wanting to get knocked out" so he played it safe. Tonight against Bradley, he basically QUIT... He knew he was getting his ass whipped and he quit. After all that shit he talked. I'm no Bradley fan, but I'm glad he shut him up, and from the sounds of it, RETIRED his ass. Hopefully we see Bradley vs Brook next year. Yes I look forward to seeing more of Teddy in the corner. He is absolutely HILARIOUS.
Rios don't have the discipline to take a year off between fights. Top rank couldn't get him a fight. I don't blame provodnikov for not wanting him at welter. Dude was 170 and that would've made more of a difference against a stationery foe
The Rios of tonight woulda gotten killed against Provo. The 170 woulda meant nothing as he was PAINFULLY slow, had nothing on his shots, and wasn't even strong. Bradley was man handling him all night. Provo woulda pushed him back and mugged him within 4-5. Extra weight doesn't always equate to extra strength and effectiveness. That 170 Rios came in at was HORRIBLE for him. Bradley was a lot physically stronger than him, despite being out-weighed by 15 pounds, simply because he was in much better shape. Rios was ALWAYS a bit suspect to the body though. Got dropped twice early in his career via body shots. Now we'll never know how a fight vs him and Provo woulda gone with both at their bests, but I suspect Provo would've always beaten him. Provo's just a tougher guy, both physically and mentally. Rios had heart, but if you put enough hurt him on him he had some give in him. We saw that in the Alvarado rematch, the Pac fight, and tonight. Provo just don't give a fuck. He'll keep fighting hard no matter how much punishment he takes. Rios woulda mentally caved in under the punishment Matty Ice dished out on Provo.
Rios plain and simple ate himself out of his two most effective weights. He was probably best suited for 140, and if he was a dedicated trainer he coulda provided us with a few years of good matchups at 140. He never had any business as a welterweight. As it went, he had a very brief 2-year prime from 2010-2012 which began with his ass whuppin of Anthony Peterson, and ended after the first Alvarado fight.
I don't agree with that. Ant Peterson just isn't that good and is EXTREMELY protected - to this day. Rios was the first guy he fought who actually hit him back.
Tiny Tim looked like a Sugar Ray Leonard against Waking Dead Rios. And he is the first one who stopped him. Looked better than Pacman against Rios. Give this mutherfockar some credit!
People are sleeping on Bradley...I predict Bradley outboxes him and beats him down for a mid to late rounds TKO....probably around the 9th round. When's this fight on anyway?
I enjoyed that fight. Always liked Bradley since he embarrassed Junior Witter in the U.K.. Despite some sketchy decisions he's always hung in there with the best in the world and put in good efforts in entertaining fights, despite not being rated very highly by most. Sure he doesn't have K.O. power, but he hangs in there with big punchers without stinking out the joint.
Sure, Brandon Rios Was FAT, SLOW and LISTLESS, but Any Version of Bradley BEATS Any Version of Rios, Comfortably...Different Class of Fighter... Good Shit from Braddles Last Night... Teddy Atlas was @ his (OVER) DRAMATIC Best, but Having Said That, it Seems like a GOOD Fit for Bradley...Bradley Would have WON Regardless, but REED Isn't Sure he'd have FINISHED Rios, if Not for Atlas' Football Coach Styled PEP TALK... REED
Am I the only one who enjoyed Bradley's celebratory KO "shrug" at the end of the fight. Sometimes subtler is better. Like Barry Sanders, "act like you've been there before..........even if you haven't". ::
Wonder if Teddy gave the Fireman speech to Michael Moorer just before he got knocked out by Big George? ray:
REED Liked It... Often, Bradley's Been CRITICIZED in Wins, so the Shrug Seemed to Say "How Bout THIS?! Is Stopping a Guy that's NEVER Been Stopped Good Enough? IS IT?"... REED
