    How's this one go down?

Canelo's arms are too short and legs are too slow to stay out of mid range. He gets busted up starting about 4 rounds in and gets stopped in 10 or 11.

Canelo scores a knockdown early because he punches violently......I say round 1 or 2....but then Trinidad start landing a few punches, lands a hook or uppercut that really get Canelo attention...the ginger realizing that going forward will get him KO'ed...will start to retreat(bigger mistake) since going backward pretty much neglect any change he has of further hurting Trinidad...Tito punish him in round 4, 5,6 cutting off the ring landing the left hook to the body n head..missing with the right as Ginger shoulder rolls away...by round 7 Ginger can't roll off the right and get hit with it also....setting up a left hook, right hand, left hook combo by Trinidad...NITE NITE...

    Trinidad KO 6

I think Ginger is just too slow and flat-footed to get it done. Like X has said before, Tito's biggest weakness was his FOOTWORK. He just seemed clumsy at times whenever faced with somebody who could turn him and force him to transition or pivot. But Canelo doesn't possess the kind of footwork in his own skillset to exploit this weakness. Tito is the better boxer here. Faster hands. Obviously more powerful. Canelo might shake him early, but once Trinidad finds the range/distance and gets into his rhythm, he will light him up something serious.

Canelo gets busted up but sirvives to lose a clear UD

  8. Thank you. The sole voice of reason.

David Reid lasted the distance with Tito, Vargas almost lasted 12 rounds. Why do people assume Trinidad would blast Canelo out early? Canelo, so far, seems to have a decent chin and he's not exactly a walking punching bag....and hits hard enough to keep a person honest.

I feel like Canelo is actually a bit underrated on here

The majority of the forum (including me) is picking him over Cotto.

Canelo isn't bad, but he is very flawed.

I have my doubts about him beating Reid and I know he'd get destroyed by Vargas.

On 11-22-2015 at around 1:20am we can all come here...after Cotto had dominated Canelo......and without a shadow of a doubt...pick Trinidad by KO...

Then Cotto must be underrated too.

Cotto is extremely OVERRATED post-Martinez fight.

Canelo can be underrated, for people who call him a complete scrub. But he's also overrated by anybody who hypes him as this potential great.

Canelo is one of those guys who got overhyped early in his career and thus people think than in actuality is a complete scrub.

For the same reason, people take an irrationally critical stance with him. His scorecards against Trout were wider than they should have been -> people talk as if he had lost the fight.

Same with his fight against Lara: he took a fight that nobody was willing to take and gritted out a close win - > people react as if he had been completely schooled.

The truth is somewhere in between. I think stylistically Canelo suits Tito well and thus I pick Tito with confidence but nothing suggests it would be an easy fight or that Canelo would get splattered quickly.

Lara might have caused Tito several problems too, btw

Trinidad would have knocked out both Trout and Lara. Although, obviously Lara gives Tito problems early on. Once Tito lands on Lara though, and he WOULD land, the glass Cuban ain't gonna handle it well.

I think the converse is at least as true. If Canelo's chin is good he gives Tito a pretty violent fight.

Yeah, it depends a lot on Canelo's chin. If he has a very good chin, I agree. Otherwise a stationary, upright guy like him is made for Tito and his reluctance to take chances against Floyd might suggest that his chin isn't all that

It sounds crazy to say now, but going into the Tito fight Vargas was regarded as having one of the best chins in boxing. We saw what happened when that first hook landed...

How does a man who's taller than Canelo, rangier than Canelo, quicker than Canelo, a better puncher than Canelo, and a better technician than Canelo suit him?

And we won't even discuss the HUUUGGGGEEE gap in stamina.

    Yupppp.

If Floyd catching him consistently clean put him into a shell, what makes anybody believe he's gonna be Hell bent to throw once Tito counters him?

  25. Nah....most people that fought Pernell Whitaker were reluctant to throw too. It's not a question of chin...it's a matter of not wanting to look like a fool.

that's bull. The reason boxers were not throwing against Pea was because they were hitting air and getting a stiff one on the nose. Not wanting to look like a fool had nothing to do with it.

  27. No one wants to miss and then get hit with a stiff one on the nose. Makes you look like a fool. What you're saying doesn't in any way refute what I'm saying. Very few people were scared of being KO'd by Whitaker.

Just what I was thinking. Missing and being hit, or just plain missing.........they both make good fighters clam up.

  29. Jesus of montreal

Jesus of montreal WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

It does refute it. Getting hit hurt. Like a lot. Even if you don't get koed or stunned. If Pea wasn't throwing back some stiff shots, all of his opponents would have thrown a lot more. Not wanting to look like a fool had nothing to do with it
