The thing with UFC, like I said before, is that on any given night any fighter can win a fight. It's difficult to establish a pattern due to teh random nature of the game. Kick the fuck outs, choke the fuck outs, ground and pound the fuck outs and armbar the fuck outs..can happen to anyone at anytime by any one.

It's a fun sport, but not a sweet science like boxing.

 

At the end of the day, boxing just requires more TALENT.

A mediocre boxing contender could venture into UFC, and with about a year of training could possibly beat anyone on a given night.

You'll never see a top cage fighter try to venture into boxing and even beat a FRINGE contender.

Cage groupies hate to admit this, but it's true.

Not to sound sexist, but I'm gonna sound sexist - when a major PPV for your sport involves women as the Main Event, your credibility is in the shitter.

UFC will probably be around for awhile, but I'm confident you're gonna see it's popularity decrease more and more.

Just too much of a circus/farce feel to it.

Fist fighting is always THE first line of defense in a fight. Always has been, always will be.

Therefore, on a given night there's a possibility that a decent boxer can take out a cage fighter before being taken to the ground. Won't happen EVERYTIME, but it's always gonna be a real possibility.

Whereas a cage fighter would have a MUCH harder time finding success in boxing as in my experience in watching, MOST of them (not all) like any real boxing ability.

I agree with you that a boxer turned into a cage fighter is always going to do better than vice versa.

However, my conclusion would be different.

It is true that so far boxing has the more talented fighters: more people, more tradition in training, tougher competition -> only the true talent survives.

But the actual difference is, boxing is a much more specific skill. You usually have to train for ten years or so to become a good boxer, in addition to being talented.

A cage fighter has to learn plenty of other shit during that ten years, he has to wrestle, learn locks, kicks etc.

If a boxer is good enough, his one specific skill can bring him a victory on a given night against the more well-rounded fighter, in a boxing ring cage gay doesn't have any advantage.

As the saying goes, in fighting you don't have to be better than your opponent, you just need one advantage and make that count

Rarely does the UFC get my attention.

I mock the UFC mainly because they're the ones who threw down the gauntlet and promoted themselves to be so far superior to boxing, and they're groupies (not all, but many) often go out their ways to bash our great sport at every turn.

If it's the Clip REED Saw, where her Mom was Basically Saying Edmund was "Lucky" to Have Ronda and "Ignored" her for Years, it Came Off as Mom Simply DISLKING Edmund More than Anything Else...

Almost as if SHE Could Do a BETTER Job, but REED Seriously DOUBTS Mom Can Do a Damn Thing about Ronda's LACK of Boxing...

In Hindsight, Ronda was DEFINITELY Unnerved by the Fact that Holm DIDN'T Give Ground, How She was Unable to BUDGE Holly & How CALM Holly Remained in the Face of her Intimidation Tactics...The PSUEDO Tough Talk Right After was VERY Reminiscent of Mike Tyson, PRIOR to Getting his Ass Whipped by Evander Holyfield...

All Told, Holm's Probably Had More than 60 Combative Sports Matches, so the Idea of INTIMIDATING Someone Like That was STUPID from the Outset...

Has that happened once at the elite level in men's MMA? Ronda is a great fighter who got beaten badly tonight. It happened. That doesn't mean boxers are better than judo masters or other grapplers. The opposite result has happened countless times where the grappler defeats the striker.

 

Holly Holm did what Rousey's ex boyfriend couldn't.
