Seems like an eternity ago, but it was only 6 years when I was CONVINCED that the Super 6 winner would either be Abraham or Kessler, and I felt Ward was the weakest link. Holy shit I was wrong. Prime Abraham was a big puncher at 160, but that power never properly carried up to 168, and he's the type of guy who never had a back-up plan if his power failed. Abraham was also the first coming of Canelo in that he only fought in explosive spurts. To his credit, he was a better fighter than Canelo though.
I agree with everything otherwise but I am not sure if he was better than Canelo. He was the bigger puncher but even more vulnerable to good movement
Hard to determine who's better P4P, but I'm confident in saying that Abraham stops the king of 155 had he actually fought him at 160.
And why would he? We all know he's not a middleweight. Don't ask him to come in above 155, it's too big for him. But, he's not a junior middleweight either, so don't ask him to make 154 cause he's too big for that. He's a Nelo-Weight.
I had Murray winning that by a point but never thought he'd get the decision because there were too many close rounds and the point off late was always likely to hurt him. Murray should have done more - he had Abraham in trouble in spots but seemed to back off instead of pressing ahead. Murray just lacks power - he's neat and tidy but he doesn't hit hard enough to really dominate fights. MTF
