Cotto seems to be the CLEAR favorite on the forum. Canelo is the clear favorite in the media. Sly and I are probably on the wrong side of the fence... but that Cotto chin... I just can't trust it.

    Why NOT???...

Randall Bailey, Muhammed Abdullaev, Ricardo Torres, Carlos Maussa, Zab Judah, Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao, Ricardo Mayorga, Sergio Martinez...Every One of them had ABOVE Average Punching Power & REED Can't Think of ANY Fighter in Cotto's Era who's Faced MORE Guys w/a Legitimate Chance of Knocking them THE FUCK Out...

That Being Said, Only Margarito and Pacquiao STOPPED Cotto....Margarito was LIKELY Fighting w/Loaded Wraps AND it Took him 11 Rounds, & Pac HASN'T KO'ed a Single Guy Since (Lending Credence to the Notion he was JUICING During that Stage of his Career), Stopping Cotto in the 12th...Sure, Cotto CAN Be Hurt, but REED Wouldn't Say Cotto's Chin has EVER Failed Him in a Fight, Either...

Cotto's SKIN is More of a Liability than his CHIN, in REED's Honest Opinion...

If Corley knew how to finish a guy Cotto would have been defeated a looooooong time ago.

Anyway...he's gets knocked out in this fight so you may revise your opinion come Sunday morning.

Yeah. Too bad Corley didn't finish pbf. He was so shocked that he had hurt pbf he did not realize how badly.

    Yep...

If Not for the Ropes, Corley WOULD have Knocked Floyd on his Ass @ the VERY Least...Busted Floyd's Lip Up Too, from REED's Recollection....

    Nah....just "Check"

Mayweather was stunned but nowhere close to being stopped. Cotto was DONE....Corley just let him off the hook.

    Now....it's Checkmate. ;)

Canelo is the most explosive puncher Cotto has faced. Not in a P4P sense but in an an absolute sense. I can envision him getting home with that left uppercut of his and busting Cotto up/hurting him.

Too late to switch picks. I'm going with my gut despite anything logical that tells me Mig might beat him. Canelo TKO 11.

Everybody you named that's worth a damn hurt Cotto clearly. And you're really padding Cotto's resume including guys like Maussa, Abdulaev and shot Mayorga.

Cotto doesn't have a bad chin but he's got a leaky defense and a giant melon. He seems to get hurt at some point against any decent fighter with decent power.

Floyd DRUNKENLY Staggered Backwards & was FORTUNATE the Ropes were There, to Prevent the 1st TRUE Knockdown of his Career...He was WELL on his Way to Falling on his ASS, if Not for the Ropes...Cotto was Caught w/a TEMPLE Shot & DRUNKENLY Staggered about the Ring, Until Gathering Himself....

Not Sure HOW You Can Say Floyd was "Nowhere Close to Being Stopped", Yet Cotto was "Done"...

To be quite frank, Corley hurt Cotto a lot worse than he did Floyd. He buzzed Floyd good, but Floyd recovered fast and wasn't in danger of being stopped. Mosley hurt Floyd the worst, IMO.

On the other hand, Corley had Cotto in REAL DANGER of being stopped. Cotto was in huge trouble, and if Corley was a finisher, yeah Mig might have been taken out.

Sooooooo, as REED Stated, Cotto's Chin NEVER Cost him a Fight, Right???...

Abdullaev Didn't Amount to Much, but he Could PUNCH Like Hell, w/Out Question...Look his Record Up...Even as his Career was Circling the Drain, Mayorga was ALWAYS a Pretty Good, Heavy Handed Puncher...Ask Vivian Harris if Maussa Could Punch...18 of his 20 Wins were by KO...

Not Sure How Mentioning Abdullaev, Mayorga and Maussa "Pads" Cotto's Resume, in Regards to PUNCHERS he's Faced...

The Abdullaev fight was over 10 years ago and Miggy was in his early/mid 20s.

Cotto's never had a BAD chin. A bad chin is Amir Khan. His chin itself is okaayyy, but not necessarily solid. His powers of recovery are good.

Canelo's body attack will take it's toll on him and contribute to the stoppage I expect.

More "Explosive" than (Possibly) Juiced Up Pacquiao, Zab or Sugar Shane???...Given Canelo's SIZE, there'll Undoubtedly Be More THUD Behind his Shots, but Not Sure about Explosion...

Cotto WILL Get Hurt Tonight...BOTH Men Will Get Hurt Tonight...

Canelo's a Good, Even Handed Puncher, but REED Can't See Him Getting Cotto Out of there w/SINGLE Shots...& if Canelo Hurts Cotto, Then Goes for Broke to END the Fight, he Runs the Risk of Expelling his Gas Tank, Which is ALREADY Limited, as Is...

Just as Easily, REED Can Counter, "If Corley was a Finisher, He'd have Done MORE than Just 'Buzzed' Floyd Good"...

You CAN'T Prop Up Corley as an Example of Cotto's FRAILTIES, While MINIMIZING what he Did to Floyd...

IF Cotto can badly hurt Canelo (and unlike Sly, I believe its possible) then Ginger's fucked. Miggy ain't his brother Jose. Cotto has experience being badly hurt, Canelo won't know how to survive.

My gut is still telling me Canelo gets buzzed, but Cotto is the one who gets badly hurt.

You know me, I don't like defending piece of shit Floyd. Just stating my opinion. Floyd was hurt, but not badly. Cotto was BADLY hurt.

I just re-watched it on Youtube this second. Wanted to see if I remembered it wrong and perhaps yall were right.

I didn't remember it wrong. He was not "badly" hurt. If you and REED think that, perhaps yall have a different definition of "badly hurt" than I do.

His legs buckled, but he quickly regained them and by time he was on the ropes he had already recovered.

Call it buzzed, at BEST rocked. But I wouldn't call it badly hurt.

Corley hurt Cotto far worse and I don't think it's a debate.

I think I forgot to mention perhaps THE biggest factor for Canelo in this fight - the JAB. He better use it. He sometimes under-utilizes the jab walking in, and if he does that tonight Cotto's picking him apart.

Canelo closes stronger to win close UD. He will be a little bit stonger, a little bit fitter down the stretch, & inflict a little bit more damage.

If Miguel hurts Canelo like is brother did in the first round (check 1:30mn), he will finish him. No doubt.

Neither Floyd or Cotto was in any real danger of getting stopped by Corley because he can't finish, but they'd have both in trouble against a real puncher and finisher.
