IMO they won't get past the negotiating table. Canelo's side will DEMAND 155 lbs catch-weight and Triple G will RIGHTFULLY balk at that.

And a 90/10 split for starters.

Canelo's stocky ass probably can't make 155 again.

Oscar no longer lie and say he's a junior middle.

If they make it 157...GGG should take it. That's reasonable IMO...and Canelo should be the one to call the shots. GGGs celebrity is growing but canelo is still the bigger draw.

I don't know. Do you think Canelo can make it up that high?

These catchweights are a fucking joke. No 155, no 157, fight for the Undisputed MIDDLEWEIGHT championship at 160 for Christ sake!

GGG fucks Canelo up. He's sharp but he's stubby and he doesn't have great power or much of a work rate. He could land here and there in exchanges with GGG but if he can't wobble and old undersized Cotto that doesn't mean a lot.

It should be at 160 but Oscar will never allow it.

Canelo needs to just stop putting on so much weight in between fights.

Cotto was wobbled in the last round and Canelo pulled up. I'm not saying he would have stopped him but he recognized there was little time left and no need to risk blitzing him and maybe getting hit in return.

Cotto was definitely ready to go in the last round. But the huffer and puffer was too winded to go all out and close the show.

Prime versions of Benitez and Trinidad would have taken out both of these guys tonight.

Trinidad yeah, but I don't see Benitez taking out a super-middle/light heavyweight.

Fair point. But I think Benitez embarrasses Canelo at the very least.

Haven't you heard the news? Canelo has better reflexes and skills than Benitez, and he has the same handspeed of Leonard...

Before the fight: 19 out of 29 predictions on fightbeat were for Cotto to win the fight. Five said Cotto by stoppage.

    Canelo beats that ass.

    After the fight:

Trinidad would have beaten them both.

    Benitez would embarrass Canelo.

If Bob Foster was still alive and in his prime...

    GGG will DESTROY Canelo...

Canelo couldn't even wobble and old undersized guy tonight.

I will give alvarez credit for blocking most of Cotto's hooks upstairs. He rarely took any flush hooks to the face. That said, he's still the same fighter. Basic and sporadic with his offense, suspect stamina

If he cut the ring as well as cut weight he'd be a problem

I had Cotto by SD, but fair play to Canelo, he was pretty good.

    Not that fucking good though.

GGG will either put him in his shell for a huge UD loss, or put his lights out.

    The pick is all Canelo's.

I'll give Canelo this much - he DOES have a very solid chin. At one point Cotto did nail him with the same hook that KO'd Geale, and Ginger didn't budge.

HOWEVER, getting hit by Golov is a world different than getting hit by Cotto. Golov already took LeMoo's best shots without blinking, and Canelo doesn't have the one-punch power Lemieux has. BUT... he is a lot more skilled than LeMoo, and his chin is much better than LeMoo's.

He'll still cop a methodical beating though.

Benitez would indeed box Canelo senseless, but I think Canelo is too durable for him to have stopped.

Benitez would have sliced Cotto to shreds though. Miggy wouldn't be able to avoid Benitez's right hand lead to save his bisexual life.

Best all time Rican my ass!

I never saw cotto land major league hooks upstairs. Alvarez is young enough to cut weight well and his 10 to 15 lb advantage helps him take shots. Maybe he got a very good beard but I'm not sold

I thought the cards were a disgrace to be honest. I had it very very close at the end. Maybe 1-2 for Canelo at best.

Maybe, but Alvarez' punches had a noticeable effect basically every time they landed. Cotto clearly felt that getting into exchanges was playing with fire

I had it 10-2 Alvarez. The 5 or 6 best shots in almost every round were Alvarez shots. Cotto couldnt even make Alvarez blink.
