Alright, Canelo's catchweight leverage worked for Cotto. But he wouldn't be able to call the negotiating shots against Leonard. At 154, does Canelo's weight gain benefit him here?

It probably allows him to last the distance. Not much more than that tho.

  3. Canelo goes the distance with Leonard and is never in dangerous of being stopped. NEVER!!!!! However, Leonard wins all but 3 rounds.

No way Canelo lasts the distance with Ray, be it 12 or 15.

Leonard stops him on accumulation in 7 rounds.

Relax, bro. The agenda is obvious. Faded Floyd shut out Canelo. But in Sly's mind Canelo can win 3 off prime Leonard.

  6. Here we go again....

Cause it's truth. In your mind, is 36-year-old Floyd the ONLY fighter in history who pitches a shut out over Canelo?

Ohhh, and for the record... Canelo doesn't see the final bell against Leonard. There is this thing called STAMINA, ya know?

  8. Leonard is not stopping Canelo. No way no how. Not at all. No Chance.

  9. Xplosive

    Xplosive X-MOD Bad Motherfucker

Yeah, because Canelo's fought a ton of guys with Leonard's power, speed, and stamina...

  10. Fuck. I have to start ignoring some of your post's X before you start increasing my blood pressure! lol

Cause you're ignoring the fact that Canelo is a huffer and puffer with an inconsistent workrate and Leonard had some of the best stamina in history.

What's really laughable is the notion of Canelo winning 3 rounds. HOW????? Leonard wasn't a midget like Cotto. Ray had 2 inches of height on Canelo, and 4 inches of reach on him. Add to that the ASTRONOMICAL difference in speed and Canelo never gets close to Leonard.

I know you hate Duran, but the undisputed FACT is that Duran had foot quickness that Ginger could only dream of. Canelo can't close the distance like Montreal Duran, he's too lead footed.

Floyd's punches were backing up Canelo and discouraging him...

When you consider that, also take into consideration that Leonard not only punches harder and faster than Mayweather, he also is more OFFENSIVE MINDED and would take the fight to him.

The moment Leonard sees himself able to back up Canelo, weight difference or not, he will step it up with combinations to the head and body and Canelo simply will not be able to survive 12 rounds of that, let alone 15.

    Leonard would stop him.

I'd love to see Canelo vs Hearns.

Sly seems to believe Canelo can eat Hearns' right hand all night.

  17. Leonard aint stopping shit.

  18. Even Ray Leonard himself would tell you that he wouldn't have stopped Canelo. Musze and X, y'all don't know shit.

    "Leonard is delusional!" - Sly.

  22. Yes, but he reversed that thought in a subsequent interview. I'll find the link if you don't believe me.

But again...this is not about Mayweather (why do I let you guys get me drawn into this shit?)

I'm almost positive that Leonard watches slow-footed Canelo and thinks in his mind he woulda wiped his ass with the slow Ging. Leonard isn't an unconfident man.

Oh btw, Leonard's net worth is actually higher than Oscar's. But you don't see Ray throwing around 100's like a fucking teenager and bragging that all his shit paid for.

Oh and he's been retired for almost 20 years now.

Let's see Floyd's net worth in 20 years...

A stoppage win is very possible taking Canelo's stamina into account, and naturally, Leonard's finishing ability.

But Canelo also went into a shell against Mayweather, so it's possible he gets very cautious after taking hard shots from Leonard.

Yeah, but even going into the shell, Floyd never TRIED for a knockout. And even if he tried, Floyd didn't have Leonard's speed and power.

This is what Sly's not getting. Prime Leonard wasn't concerned with going the distance. He WANTED stoppages. If Ray saw the little huffer and puffer weakening, he'd jump all over him.

Leonard would badly weaken him with body shots, and given that Ray had a much longer reach and 2 light years better athleticism, he'd be landing these combos and still be out range for the Ginger's attempt to retaliate.

Would Leonard take some good shots? Yeah, he was more offensive minded than Floyd and faggot Lara, and wouldn't mind taking a few. If he could walk through Hearns best, I'm PRETTY SURE Canelo's best shots aren't damaging him. Canelo couldn't stop fragile Miggy or the corpse of Mosley, he ain't gonna damage Leonard.

Sly doesn't believe what he's saying. He's angling to get a rise out of you, X.

  28. Who cares? lol

  29. People go into shells for a variety of reasons...power isn't always the reason.

    Example:

Leonard when he fought Hagler fought very cautiously...staying on his bicycle, not taking chances. He fought the same way against Duran in their third fight (the one boxing fans refuse to ever talk about). Against Hearns, however, IN BOTH FIGHTS....Leonard was the aggressor. Hearns hit much harder than both Hagler and Duran....so ask yourself the question, why was Leonard aggressive with him...and cautious with teh other two? I wont answer it...y'all figure it out.

When Chavez fought Whitaker he didn't throw nearly as many punches as he did when he fought Taylor. In fact most guys who fought Whitaker had a much lower output against him than against other fighters. Was it fear of Whitaker's power? Again...y'all figure it out.

So Canelo...Shell against Mayweather because of fear of being stopped because he tasted hard punches? You think Mayweather had heavier shots than Cotto?

  30. The other thing a great deal of you idiots don't realize is this: Canelo doesn't have a stamina problem.

For example the fight with Cotto was fought at a decent pace...Canelo fought the last round like it was the first round. I did not see this "huffing and puffing" fighter. Perhaps I need to educate you on the difference between a fighter that fights in spurts because of his style and one that shows an obvious gradual slow down as the fight goes on.
