Says after Rigo's performance on Saturday that there's no more interest in pursuing Rigo-Loma, and that if Roc Nation calls TR they'll hang up the phone.

Can't lie, after that "performance" on Saturday, I can't say I'm heart broken. Loma-Rigo has lost it's luster. Everybody was anticipating it more than Kov-Ward, but I can't see why anymore. Kov-Ward is still very much a highly debatable matchup (although Kov will go in a slight favorite).

IF Saturday night is what Rigo is at this point, he's a rather clear underdog against Loma.

So who next for Loma then?

I guess the biggest fight for him would be to move up to 130 and fight Walters.

TR is acting like LOMACHENKO is a boxing superstar..his fanbase is just as big as Rigon...which consist of a few hardcore fans...some family members and their team....

The nerves of Bob.....lol...when is that old bastard going to die...

They'll be no change at Top Rank when Arum dies. Arum doesn't really RUN Top Rank anymore, Todd Duboef does. Arum is just the figurehead.

Yeah but that shitty performance wasn't really even Rigo's fault. That Filipino dude just had a weird herky jerky style that threw his rhythm off. If anything I think that guys style gave him a greater shot at winning then the usual assortment of orthodox fighters Rigo faces.

Loma beats Rigo now. But with that performance, the fight is a hard sell.

It makes no sense....Arum is saying...MY guy Loma is TOOOOO good for Rigon...we will not waste or time fighting a TOP 5 p4p fighter...it' just below us..it's an easy victory for LOMA....

It makes no fucking SENSE....most promoter would be running towards making that fight....

i still think it's an interesting fight, but who knows what's left of rigo considering his age and especially inactivity. he may no longer be in his prime.

Yeah, and nobody ever will. It's not like at some point fan interest will be there. History has shown that nobody is going to break the bank watching guys in that weight class so what is the point in Arum pretending that fan interest is the problem?

This is one of the ways the UFC is better than boxing, there are no filthy fucking promoters hijacking fights and stuff. When Dana has a hot fight that fans want to see, he goes out of his way to make it more often then not. You think that if Floyd and Pac were in the UFC that there is anyway we don't see those guys go at it in their primes? Fucking boxing needs to dump these damn promoters or fucking limit their control.

Exactly, both couldn't draw flies to shit. THis is a clear case of ducking if Arum really stand on this position.

I'd rather watch a Hopkins - Karo Murat trilogy than watch another round of Rigo. Boring-est elite fighter of all time.

    Agreed.

The old Haitian shoulda come out his comfort zone for ONCE and actively pursued a stoppage.

exactly, its a load of incoherent runny bullshit.

Even if Rigo had lost on saturday he'd be a worthy opponent & he basically pitched a shut out on the cards

    yup

if any of them want a bigger purse fight, they need each other. I still want to see it happening just to shut the mouths of Loma's groupies when Rigo outpoints him easily in 12 boring rounds.

Loma doesn't really need Rigo. He'd make more fighting Walters, and it'd be a more fan-friendly fight.

Rigo fuckin blew it. The guy is a wonderful talent, but has no urgency.

Rigo is still considered one of the best P4P. It makes sense to match them both, even though from a financial point of view it will be risky. But who knows? maybe fans will pay to see if Loma can give a deserving beating to Rigo's boring ass!

Rigo's performance on Sat did nothing to strike the fear in the heart's of anybody. I don't think Top Rank watched and said "Holy shit, he'll school Loma."

I think they're more concerned that even if Loma wins, he'll look bad in victory cause Rigo might fight so negative.

Yeah i don't agree with Arum's excuses but i think it's extremely likely Lomachenko doesn't come out looking great against Rigo even if he wins.

The Rigo we saw on Sat was shit compared the pre-layoff version.

How he looked on Sat he'd have trouble with Russell Jr, LET ALONE Loma.

He needs to be on Donaire form to beat Loma. But it's possible that Donaire version of Rigo is gone.

    ?

Not his fault? Bull shit. All he did was hold inside. And he threw very few punches. Of course it was his fault.

Why? I do not follow your logic at all. It is high risk/low reward. It is a guaranteed boring fight. Rigo takes no chances. Fight will not be exciting. And even if lomachenko won he would not get too much credit. So why in the hell would he be "running towards making that fight..."

Rigo's fight against the Japanese kid was fan friendly and we all saw what happens when he takes risks. He's an incredible talent, but he's delicate around the whiskers (Kell Brook voice).

Him taking risks could easily lead to him being KO'd.

It's definitely not a high demand fight now. Even Rigo's biggest fan Neil is claiming he shoulda done more.

What I WANNA see is Loma beat up Leo Slowa Cruz, but we know it's not realistic.

I wonder if people remember the "Masterpiece" against Nonito Donaire. Take out the 12th round when Donaire desperately dropped all semblance of "boxing", and the Cuban Leprechaun averaged 10 lands and 5.18 power punches landed per round.

Dullard McJackalbore can spend the rest of his career out-feinting ring card girls for all I fucking care.

That said, Arum is a POS. :shit #2:

I'm not a Rigo fan the way REED and Neil are, BUT.... Rigo-Donaire is one of the most beautiful boxing clinics of the last 20 years. I dunno how in the Hell you can claim to be a boxing fan and criticize it.

I'd watch Rigo-Donaire over bum ass Gatti-Ward 1 anyday of the week.
