I think this is an interesting matchup. On one hand, 96 Tyson was not the same Tyson, but he was still very dangerous and still very quick for 5-6 rounds. Lewis in 96 was very good, but not AS good as he would later become in 99-00. So this matchup comes down to Lewis having the edge if he could survive the first 6 rounds, but a very live chance that he doesn't survive the first 6 rounds. Thoughts?
I dunno. Lewis '96 was a pretty intimidating guy: he reduced the Atomic Bull to near-suicide. I just think Lewis' jab and overal power are too much for little Mikey...
I think it's possible in 96. But I'm not positive. Mike had lost a lot of quickness, but he was still very fast for the first half. And 96 Lewis still hadn't perfected defense.
Well I should add the words AT LEAST... In truth, Tyson probably beats him every single time, though I give a prime Lewis a chance.
Mike obviously didn't much fancy his chances at that time, seeing as he paid Lennox millions to 'step-aside'. I agree with the consensus, though - Mike early is possible but more likely that Lennox breaks him down late. MTF
