Well then you're a fucking boxing masochist. Did you see my above post? He landed 10 punches per round in his absolute best performance ever. Those are fat, lumbering, lazy, asthma stricken heavyweight numbers, not the most talented bantamweight on the planet numbers.

Pernell Whitaker, who many people think was boring, regularly landed 200-300 punches per fight, against much more dangerous opponents then Rigamortis has ever fought.

I don't know, maybe you guys are just starving for a new boxing hero and this guy fits into your Willie Pep win a round without throwing a punch mythology.

Even before rigondeaux looked awful vs Francisco I figured a fight between him and lomachenko would be tactical and dull. Lomachenko isn't the type to pursue him aggressively or recklessly. It would be a chess match with not many punches landed

 

That's very much true but even if it's a fight he was fairly confident he could win I doubt Arum would be clamouring for it anyway. Skilled defensive fighters who are much lesser threats than Rigo are avoided all the time. When you're trying to build up a fighter's profile to mainstream fans it's not the opponent you seek out.

Fighters like Rigo are intriguing when they're fighting dangerous opposition and the question is if they can do they're thing against that opponent. Watching him "do what he had to do" against some guy isn't that appealing.

That said he seems to have slowed down a bit.
