DeGale-Bute: Final Predictions

Seems like we damn near forgot this fight is Sat. Or perhaps we don't care.

I initially considered picking a Bute upset here, but then I remembered how soft the Romanian frog is. And he's past his prime.

DeGale wins. Maybe he gets him out late, but more likely by decision. DeGale has peaked at the perfect time. Ward's gone to 175 and Froch is retired. And even better for DeGale his daddy Groves seems ruined from the Froch KO.

Oh and Amir Imam is fighting some journeyman on the undercard (for Double's information). Which is supposed to set up a Postol title shot. That's gonna be a good matchup.

 

DeGale wins pretty easily, probably by stoppage once he gets inside and starts to tee on Bute soft ass.

Yeah, we have the two most talented American prospects both in action on Saturday. Shame that both are in showcase fights.

Difference being, Imam has DK who's putting him in with Postol next.

Spence has Haymon who's obsessed with making bullshit fights.

And Imam is actually younger than Spence AND has less amateur pedigree.

Despite your assertions, PBC generally makes excellent fights. I would say better than Don King, on average.

If PBC wants to build up Spence more, who can blame them? It's not like Postol is a draw. He's an unknown who most people have seen exactly once and since he has a memorable name, he's getting a bigger boost than most guys in his situation.

 

Bute, as some of us said along alone, has no chin. Luckily for him, DeGale is a stinky fighter who won't come out and try to dominate him like the Farmer did. Which means he has a chance. I'd still reckon DeGale wins, though. He'll need a stoppage, and might get one late.
