Just seen the fight....absolutely shocking decision.....98-92 is one of the worst scorecards i've heard for a long time. Terry O'Conner proving his incompetence once again.

Thank godness you were not the manager of Cassius Clay

He looks like America's version of a heavyweight nowadays. Big and out of shape (for a pro athlete).

None of those fighters had bitch tits which jiggled for 4 seconds after jabbing. Comparing Fury to Ali & Lewis in any way, regardless of provisos or qualifications is ludicrous.

Those two became better than you could have expected at one point. But let's say Jameel McCline instead. He had a shitty start for his career and he became a contender. Fury does not seem to have his quitting gene

Damn, I was harsh on Fury back in the day's. But to be honest, his performance vs McDermott was garbage. Nowaday, I'm pretty high on him, I don't think he's an all-time great or anything, but he's big, ankward and he has heart. It may even be enough for him to beat Haye

After last night's performance even Roy Jones & Holyfield will feel tempted to call out Fury. I mean, he is this era's Leon Spinks: won the title mainly due to the inactivity of the champ.

So crazy that TYSON FURY is the heavyweight champion of the world.

  16. We waited a long time, but finally we once again have a Tyson at the top of the Heavyweight heap. lol

Tyson performed some good head movement there. Wonder if he had trained with Rooney, if that was the case then this is just what everybody has said would happen

Rewatched this fight again today, I forgot just how bad a decision this was. Clear win for McDermott who despite looking like a fat plum was actually a decent fighter (at domestic level). To be fair to Furry he won the rematch by stoppage and has improved since:

Rewatching the Thrilla in Manilla now on BT Sports 1. Tyson Fury is now the legitimate holder of the same title that these fellas once held. Jesus fucking wept.

Arturo Gatti and Mickey Ward fought a much greater battle than Vernon Forrest and Shane Mosley in their rematch

the current heavyweight champ was named after the last heavyweight champ anyone really gave a fuck about....

You know what man, I can't knock the guy anymore to be honest. No, he isn't very good but I have to respect his unwavering self-belief. He's literally done everything he said he was going to do at this point so fair play.

I have to agree. He is not great by any means but he has learned how to fight and regardless what happens between now and his eventual first loss, he'll have people tuning in.

And most don't want to admit it, but he knows how to fight. He's quick handed for his size and has surprisingly good stamina.

I can't say anything bad about him anymore. He has literally WILLED himself to become champion. Hats off.

  26. Jimmy

Jimmy The Greatest of Are Times

Yeah, you've got to respect what he's said and done. He's always been that way though, full of confidence believing he's the best man on the planet, willing to take on all comers. I gave Fury very little chance of winning because I thought Wlad was on another level to him, that Fury wouldn't stand up to his power shots and would crumble. Basically, I didn't trust his chin or stamina.

Maybe Vitali will come out of retirement and handle him like he did Sanders.

  28. I would bet on Vitali if that fight came off

I would take a prime Vitali over Fury.

But from my understanding, Vitali's body has been broken down from all the injuries. Especially his knees.

I wouldn't bet on him coming back now. Plus isn't he the mayor of Kiev?

He definitely would have beaten Fury even by the end of his career. Is there any doubt now Vitali was the better fighter of the two?
