How's his stamina? Can he go 12 rounds? I don't think he's done more than ten minutes in any fight, ever.

  2. Are you suggesting that he only trains for a 10 minute fight? I'm sure he's training for the possibility of a distance fight.

For the longest time Tyson's fights lasted less than 5 mins.

He doesn't need to go the distance before being able to step up to a title. The guy is 26 years old. That's not young. That's PRIME of life. If he isn't ready by now he never will be.

Otherwise I agree but not with this. Tall heavyweights are usually in their prime at 30 or so and Joshua had a short amateur career so he could still develop. He will probably peak earlier than Lennoc or Wlad though since his game is more based on speed

Stamina is as Much a MENTAL Hurdle as it is a PHYSICAL 1, Brother Sly...

REED's Never 1nce Seen Errol Spence Take a Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep Breath in the Gym, yet it WASN'T Until he Went 10 Rounds for the 1st Time, that he KNEW what his Threshold was...Since Then, Spence's Workrate NEVER Dips....

Ditto for Sergey Kovalev, when he Faced Bernard...Kovalev OPENLY Admitted to PACING himself, Due to the UNCERTAINTY of his Gas Tank in a 12 Round Fight...

Until Joshua's Stamina has Been TESTED, We'll NEVER Know...

  5. Sure...but if he's not ready to go 12 rounds now he never will be. He needs to get into the mix now and stop wasting time, he's a 26 year old professional, what's he waiting for?

And Ugo, I think 26 years old is prime time regardless of weight division or size.

Yeah...Joshua and this David Tua' cousin.....fight with h such coolness and fluidity...something we haven't seen in a long long time in the heavyweight division....they fight like a 90's HOLYFIELD....

So if Joshua beats Whyte (which many predict to happen in no time at all) over 12 gruelling, hard fought rounds, will his doubters have a field day? Would the pros outweigh the cons?

knowing little of Joshua...and even less of Whyte...if these two go 12 rounds....both of their power are overated.

Yeah I like Parker having seen a bit more of him now. He seems pretty good.

That's not true for heavyweights. Both Lewis and Wald didn't hit their primes years til their 30s. Even going back before them, Larry Holmes didn't hit his prime til around 30.

Joshua is VERY young for a heavyweight and has the talent/skill set to improve as his comp improves.

That bum Wilder is about as good as he's gonna get though.

He's got a nice sneaky left hook/right hand combo a bit like Tszyu.

The best part of this video is at 10.28, outstanding.

I'm saying that I don't know anything about how effective he is after four rounds, let alone in the championship rounds. I'm saying that he may have stamina issues, or he may not. We don't know. What we do know is that he has precisely 14 professional fights and has fought absolutely nothing of note. I also know that he has dealt very well indeed with people he should have.

That's pretty much all we have.

Parker maybe but Joshua is about as fluid as Wlad was at that age.

Let me say this Hoot. I hope you are all right. Tyson Fury being the HW Champion of the World just feels wrong. I'll be as happy as the next chap to see that Joshua is the goods. He certainly looks the part, thus far. But those ammy gifts sit uneasily with me, still.

Are we going to see a similar result? I like Joshua but I hate these PPV cards. When Prescott sparked Khan I was delighted, nothing against Khan more of a two finger salute to Sky Sports and their shitty PPV cards.

Yeah it's pretty disgusting they've made this PPV. Seems counter-productive as well from a business perspective as they're cutting off potential exposure to the casual fan.

Think Joseph Parker won inside a round this weekend. Surely he's due a step up in class now. Leapai has lost 3 in a row but would that not be some sort of step up for him?

It's Eddie Hearn. He loves a PPV event. He should change his name to Eddie PPV Hearn.

  29. One thing about Joshua....he's built like a motherfucking Comic book character. I don't think I've ever seen a heavyweight with a more imposing physical presence.

Joshua is an anomaly in the modern heavyweight division.

    He's in great shape.
