Jacobs doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell againt GGG....he better aim for the winner of lee-Saunders
LMAO @ Showtime trying to say Quillin is better than anyone on Golov's resume. I've been saying for the LONGEST that Lemieux would KO Quillin.
To be honest this victory of Jacobs over Quillin tonight shits on all the bums GGG has faced in his entire career.
Murray and lemieux both better Than quillin. :: @the announcers sayin jacobs was beating pirog before the ko.
The stoppage was a TAADDDD too quick, but it was all academic. Quillin has no defense and no ring smarts. He was gonna keep swinging and Jacobs, having the better technique, was gonna keep lighting him up.
Jacobs landed a nice right hand to start quillins demise but once he had him hurt he looked more sloppy than delahoya in tryin to finish Quillin is pretty fragile but I think killing himself to make 160 probably added to his legs leaving him as soon as he got hit flush
Ehhhh, that last part is hard to say. Quillin's never had a good chin, weight drained or not. And Jacobs has a lot of flaws, but one thing he always did have is pop in that right hand. Jacobs looked MORE drained at the weigh-in than Quillin did. I think this is just a case of Quillin being horribly exposed. Here's a possible matchup - Jacobs vs Jermall Charlo, since Charlo can barely make 154 anymore.
I picked Quillin but I'm glad I was wrong. Caught that tid bit of Thurman vs Porter in February but until an official announcement is made I won't believe it. On the HBO side, Rivera vs Vasquez was a good little fight too, with Rivera edging the split. Coulda gone either way.
Jermall is better than Jermell, but basically proved nothing in beating up an overmatched bum last week. Spence's opponent last week was far better than Charlo's. I'd pick Jacobs over Charlo.
He was pretty sharp tonight, which is why Quillin wasn't gonna recover. The guy has no survival skills and no defense. Quillin can move up, but not sure what the Hell he's gonna do at 168. DeGale and Jack would kill him.
I was wrong. Was so sure Jacobs chin was not up to snuff, forgot that Quillen is vulnerable too. Plus as announcers pointed out before fight, Jacobs ko record even better than Quillens.
Quillin isn't a big puncher. I just had no faith in Danny's chin. Jacobs will KO Lee as well, as Lee is just as shitty as Quillin. Hence why those two bums fought to a draw.
Agreed. As I've always said, he has no skill or defense to speak of. That's why I was always laughing when GGG was killing guys like Macklin, and Stevens and people said "Quillin would be a step up from those guys", and I was thinking no he wouldn't be.
Like most, I expected Quillin to win with quite a bit of confidence. This is why they fight the fight. Quillin vs Lemieux is a tough fight to call. We all should know not to make too much of 1st round ko's. Shit happens. I still think Quillin is better than Jacobs, but here we are. Good for Jacobs. Oh, and they can take this bullshit about Danny Jacobs being the first cancer survivor to win a world title and shove it up their ass. The WBA is a shitshow with their interim, regular, and super champion bullshit. Jacobs has never had their top belt and therefore has zero claim at being a world champion. He won the WBA regular (which is really an interim title in this case because Golovkin had the top WBA belt) a week before Anthony Dirrell won his vacant WBC belt. Anthony Dirrell is the first cancer survivor to win a world championship that I know of. The only one I know of, for that matter.
His 1st Barrage, After Staggering Quillin Initially, was a Bit Sloppy...Headhunting w/a Few SLAPPING "Hooks", as Quillin was Earmuffed... But the Barrage that Staggered Quillin the Final Time was Quality... REED
