Maybe, but she was an obvious cheater all along. She's as obvious as it gets in terms of anabolic steroid effects in women. I don't give her credit for beating natural women fighters when she's been taking male hormones all along. If she fights in the UFC with strict drug testing during the training camps, I'd still pick Ronda to win. At 140 or 145. That's assuming Ronda wants to make a comeback and keep fighting.
i base rousey's dominance on her ability to win and win in a dominant fashion. i have no problems with those who rate cyborg higher. not sure where this ufc koolaid reference is coming from. as for carano, i dont think she was considered a 'dominant' fighter. she was just fun to watch and was appealing to upstart women's mma.
She lost it the minute she got popped for taking steroids. While I hate PED use in men, I think that hatred is a billion times greater for chicks.
Oh I know Dana wants an immediate rematch. But I'm curious if Ronda does. I keep reading where the "rematch is confirmed" but Rousey has yet to chime in to my knowledge. I'd be shocked if she wanted an immediate rematch.
REED Would Be Shocked Too, but WHY Would Dana Go On Record w/This, if he HADN'T Discussed it w/Rousey 1st???... REED:dunno:
I know. That's why I was hoping someone had a quote or comment from Rousey. Dana is close with Rousey like he was/is with Liddell. I am certain he's talked to her, and I would guess the conversation of a rematch came up. But damn, if Rousey really wants a rematch, she should be making some noise herself.
Here's a question for the class. Can you cite any examples of a fighter getting brutally knocked out and then winning an immediate rematch? Be it MMA or boxing.
Holly Holm against Ann Mathis BOOM!!! What do i Win other than "The Greatest" title? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iwDHXErdBjo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

She said she felt exhausted prior to the Holm fight, plus had family problems too. After such a vicious knockout, you would think she'd take some time out to recover, plus she has thinks to work on so maybe even more time off would be best suited?
I didn't realise they are remaking Road House. It would be interesting to see a rematch and how it plays out. Would Holm go in to the rematch as the betting favourite, in your opinion?
Currently, Ronda is the betting favorite. She was the betting favorite before when i bet against her and cleaned up.
I had money in Holm. I wasn't confident, but to put a world champ boxer and undefeated MMA fighter trained by a good MMA gym at +900 odds, well I'm gonna take that.
As I stated before the fight, I put money on Holm. I got it when she opened as. 14-1 dog. With those kind of odds it was worth the risk considering, as you said, holm's experience and her training at the best gym in the sport.
I felt she had terrible standup and her chin was not full tested. I saw her believing her own bullshit about being the best striker. Also genuinely felt she feared cyborg. Holm looked like Jon jones when I would watch her fight. I knew that style would give Ronda fits if Holm could avoid the takedown.
[h=2]'Sad' Ronda Rousey reveals mouth injury, unstable teeth may keep her shelved (and apple-free) for six months[/h] Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is starting to open up about her crushing knockout loss to Holly Holm (video), which took place in the UFC 193 pay-per-view (PPV) main event back in November. In short, she's "really f---ing sad." "Rowdy" will be featured in the upcoming issue of ESPN Magazine, the "Ideas of the Year" edition, deconstructing her career-altering defeat to "The Preacher's Daughter," as well as some of the injuries she sustained by way of fists (and feet) to the face. People.com with a sneak peek: The stitches in her lip still dissolving, and a few of her teeth still unstable from Holm's fight-ending kick to the face, Rousey admits "It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact." ESPN Magazine hits newsstands this Friday (Dec. 11, 2015). If she's still three-to-six months away from eating an apple, that doesn't leave me feeling overly optimistic about an immediate rematch against Holm. Then again, UFC President Dana White doesn't want to lose his promoter's license, so perhaps he will, in fact, keep the division on ice until further notice.
Rousey planned to make the Roadhouse movie then return to fighting in July anyway. If Holm were hotter he'd toss Rousey to the side in a NY minute.
yup. The plan was for ROusey to take a few months off to film roadhouse. Then get back to training for UFC 200 in the summer. In that time, Cyborg was suppose to have her first fight at 135 and then begin the process of promoting the fight between Cyborg and Ronda at 200. Well with the Ronda out and Zuffa pushing Cyborg's fight back even further, Cyborg's target of 145 has been called off and she will continue to fight at 145.
forget 135, cyborg's no longer even trying to make 140 like she was supposed to for her next fight. the rousey fight is never happening imo. neither is holm vs cyborg. if rousey's on the shelf, i expect tate to get the next shot.
Yeah, she said fuck it when Zuffa kept pushing the fight further and further. She aint going to kill herself that long. and for what?
For what? The UFC Women's Bantamweight title is far more important, lucrative and potentially legacy-making than ANYTHING Cyborg can do at 145 in Invicta. If Cyborg beat Holm handily at 135, she would be legendary. And that's not an exaggeration.
