Excited to see Donnie Yen, VERY disappointing to see Jason Scott Lee as the main villain. He is fucking horrible and doesnt know anything and it shows. Even the trailer shows how horrible his fighting is.

Chow Yong Fat was the star of the original and he knew less shit than Jason Scott Lee.

That was a drama and this looks like action.

But Fat played a martial arts master and had fight scenes (the famous bamboo tops scenes).

Real fights don't happen on bamboo trees so it doesn't matter. That being said a drama focusing on acting and the martial arts is in the background. An action movie, the martial arts is the central focus.

I hear ya, but take Shaolin for example, that has a mixture of a great storyline and great action.

15 years for a sequel to come out of a movie that was over-hyped at the time and subsequently everyone felt they just had to jump on the 'Hey! Chineser-Movies-Are-Really-Cool-Afterall-nd-Everything' Bandwagon.

Has it got Fook Yu and Fook Mi in it?

Looks trash, plus the CGI on top of the wire work is overkill. I loved the original.

Still looks better then "Into The Badlands" though.

All the fellatio critics gave CT,HD was mainly because their favorite Asian fag, Ang Lee, directed it. 'Hero' shitted on it, but wasn't given the hoopla CTHD got.

Hero wasnt as well made. I enjoyed it better, but it wasnt on the level of CTHD in terms of Cinematography and just pure beauty. The acting was better in CTHD too.

CTHD bored me to tears. It felt like a chore watching that crap. On the other hand I don't get tired watching 'Hero' multiple times.

Because Hero had better action scenes. CTHD had the better acting and was shot better.

I like the cinematography of Hero better. While the 'bamboo showdown' was beautifully filmed, not much else stands out.

    Take brief look and compare:

    Hero

Wow, I have to admit the cinematography in the Hero footage really is spectacular. The richness in colour and the way the scenes are shot, breathtaking. Crouching Tiger in comparison is bleak and bland.

Not a fan of the CGI martial arts, though. I prefer more rawness to the fighting if that makes sense.

Crouching Tiger Hidden dragon (original) was a very overrated film. And Ang Lee was a very overrated director.

That was a good film too, but not as good as 'Hero'.

Wow. I can't believe what I'm reading. CTHD is one of my all time favorite films. I thought it had the perfect blend of action and drama with a nice romantic element blended in to boot. Hell, even the martial arts scenes were amazing to me whether done hand to hand or with weapons. IMO no other martial arts film since or around that time compares especially not Hero which I found boring with crap fight scenes (although it should be noted that other than Lethal Weapon I've pretty much hated every fight Jet Li has filmed). House of Daggers was ok but the overall story wasn't as good and just didn't balance as well with the action like in CTHD. It's bull that people are claiming it's overrated now blaming outside factors on a film as well done as that one was.
