I just hope they don't mess this up. I wish the X men franchise was in the hands of the MCU...in that case I'd have no worries. Still, Bryan Singer has done a decent job with the franchise so far, so it should live up to expectations.

The presence of Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence saves this movie from total casting disaster. I'm sorry but I don't like that idiot as Xavier, I'm not buying it.

Casting has definitely been the problem with the franchise. In the first 3 films only Hugh Jackman and Charles Xavier were cast properly. Halle Berry as Storm? WTF? That old frail man as Magneto? That short bad acting motherfucker as Cyclops?

I agree, Fassbender and Lawrence are keeping the current franchise afloat (although because of Lawrence's star power they are making Mystique too much of a central character). I don't mind that James guy as Xavier though....he's a good actor.

 

I'll watch this. It'll be better than the Captain American vs Ironman bullshit.

 

Bond are based on novels.
Marvel movies are based on whatever 'screenplay' they can dream-up / re-hash and...this is very clever technique, cross-pollination of characters to keep audiences guessing.

I'm with you. I did not got excited by this trailer at all, but I'll still watch it because it is my duty as a franchise fan.

Me too. DOFP was pretty decent though. Still they haven't yet delivered an Xmen film that's as good as the first Avengers film. That's the standard I want to see.

I want to see a scene like this at least once in an Xmen film:

What I am already tired about the X-Men films is its lack of creativity. With that I mean, is being 15 years and we STILL are getting the 'Xavier vs Magneto' rivalry? really? doesn't the comicbooks have way, way MORE villains than Magneto? why Magneto has to be in every freaking X-Men movie? Don't get me wrong: Fassbender is awesome in the role, but for crying out loud, give him a rest and bring Mr. Sinister, Modok, Cassandra Nova, Sunfire, heck anyone, but Magneto AND Mystique!

 

The prequel X-Men series has been pretty stellar so far. This looks awesome regardless.
