The Return of "El Diamante" will be this Friday the 11th after now appearing to be fully recovered from his left hand injury.

I've seen Dos Santos, and he's anything but a threat. This guy is here only for a pay day and to make Verdejo look good. He hasn't fought in over a year and his last fight was a LOSS via KO in some bingo hall in Namibia to somebody who's name I've never heard. I expect an early KO for Verdejo.

I have no issue with it since it's his first fight back after injury and plus he's still young, people seem to forget. But I do think a step up in competition is now due. I'd like to see Top Rank match him up with some top 10 guys at 135 starting with his next fight after this.

As for Donaire vs Juarez, at this point in Donaire's career, I don't know what he really has left but he's back at 122 my understanding is.

    What do y'all think?

Don't have much of a thought on either. It's a showcase for both guys. In the case of Donaire, his best days are definitely behind him, but he's better off at 122 than at 126. Maybe he can still make some noise at 122.

In the case of Verdejo, obviously this fight is gonna be a soft touch coming off his injury. If he continues to progress, he'll be ready for contenders and probably a title in 2016. I mean, it's not like 135 is filled with talent, it's a pretty weak division. I don't expect Verdejo to be a career lightweight though. He's likely a natural junior welter.

I see him at WELTERWEIGHT within a few years, honestly. He has a big frame.

I have high hopes for him. Anybody who can give Lomachenko a close fight when he was just 17-18 years old has to be a bad ass. But amateur and professional is different.

It feels like Donaire could end it with one punch but at the same time it feels like he's getting broken down.

We might be seeing the end of Donaire here. I dunno if he'll last the last 3 rounds. He's definitely over the hill.

Nice right hand KO for Verdejo. Expected, though. Dos Santos was definitely a soft touch.

    Like the poise/patience Verdejo shows.

Verdejo will probably be ready to KO fragile chinned Jorge Linares by the end of the year.

Verdejo said "Thank You". So, already he's spoken more English than Tito ever did.

Not yet. Tito once said "Tree gold medal."

Here is the whole fight. Trinidad looked more happy than Verdejo after the KO.

Verdejo has improved. He's come a long way. His first 2-3 fights, he looked really green and unpolished. He's developed into a patient and more complete boxer-puncher, and he's become more efficient.

    Hoping he continues to improve.

I noticed very little head movement and Dos Santos landed a few shots mainly because this deficiency in his defense. Against a harder puncher he could be in trouble if he doesn't correct this problem.

True. No fighter is perfect. Being that he's mainly an offensive minded guy, he'll get hit.

But yeah I would like to see him tighten up a bit on that, as well as use his jab a little more. I think experience will bring this about.
