I disagree, he likes to counter punch on the inside, especially with that left hook, but he likes the opponent to commit. Whyte was keeping him at bay with the jab in the first four and he struggled.

Joshua seems to have almost zero head movement. He parries and defends with his arms conscientiously, but he stays completely upright throughout, and that's why Whyte managed to land on him so easily. Against someone bigger and with more power he looks like he'd be in serious trouble.

Joshua did manage to slip one punch around about round 6 and was so surprised with himself he did a little Ali shuffle in celebration.

He does sound like a nice, smart guy, unusual for a British boxer.

This is from the RBR by the same newspaper that Mitchell works for:
Round two: The referee Howard Foster takes a moment at the start of the round to calm things down. As the round gets going Joshua goads Whyte, talking behind his gloves before firing off shots, but he isn’t able to connect like he did in the first. The extra height and reach allows Joshua to take control of the centre of the ring and he seems to have Whyte on the backfoot when suddenly a flashing right hand catches Joshua. He wobbles on his legs and he’s struggling! The crowd let up a roar as they sense a pivotal moment, but Whyte can’t find the finish. Fascinating round.

Agreed on all fronts. He is not actually from London and I saw him on the street in Watford once when I was working there, he didn't look that big, then again I am 5-9 340lbs so I wouldn't be in awe of anyone like.

After all is said and done, at least Joshua wasn't KTFO in ten seconds.

Seriously Whyte looked like he can pull if off for maybe 5 minutes after he caught AJ flush in the second round. By round 4 AJ looked less tired and kind of recomposed whereas Whyte completely fell apart. There was nothing on his shots anymore.

Have you noticed though....of all the Tweets coming in for Joshua...it's more likely an 'indirect statement' to air their disappointment about Tyson Fury (because they havent got the guts, sorry, 'personality' to stand up and air their opinions about him)
I mean why else the fuck would Jessica Ennis-Hill send Anthony Joshua a fucking congrats Tweet?

    Know what I mean?

They were on the same Olympic team. Presumably they know each other from that? But the point is otherwise valid.

Correct. Whyte was shattered after four rounds. Joshua outlasted him as much as anything.

Yeah I am not saying this fight answers all the questions about AJ, nor saying he is anything close to perfect right now. But Wlad also never was. If Joshua could learn Wlad's sometimes dirty defensive tactics a little bit he would be hard to beat. Heck he is hard to beat already.

Nah, there is definitely an element of the 'anyone but Fury' about the reaction to Joshua. Ennis Hill at least probably knows Joshua. What some golfing dickhead has to say on the issue, on the other hand, matters absolutely not an iota.

Yeah he also outpunched him a LOT in every round besides the second. Whyte took a shellacking and winged punches like crazy of course he is done after 7 rounds...

Whyte was done after four, not seven. He was basically not far from fat and he came with a basic plan - win early or not at all. Joshua was also very tired, but in much better shape.

Never heard of this Joe Parker before. Just googled him and see that he's another young big undefeated guy with a stellar KO percentage.

    This division has a future!

I'll have to do some extensive "research" on him (on youtube)

Yeah but Joshua to me looked like he had a second wind. Of course that could be because of Whyte completely falling apart but he was huffing and puffing much more in the rounds before the 5th, 6th, 7th... It didn't go downhill anymore for him after he looked so exhausted. That to me was probably the most surprising part and tells me his stamina is good considering he has 250lbs of bull meat sucking on his oxygen tank. He's not kenyan long distance runner or anything but Wlad has run out of gas at that point in his career and later on these occasions.

“Dillian came to fight back and proved Joshua is nowhere near the level he's ranked. That's not being critical or biased because he's now had 15 fights and is still learning the trade.
I'm sure his promoter Eddie Hearn will guide him correctly and not rush him, but in my own opinion, Joshua is at least three years away from world platforms" - Peter Fury (via WBN)

Joshua got a second wind because he saw Whyte had fallen apart IMO. Even so, his punches had markedly slowed by that point and he didn't look like he was going to hurt Whyte until he landed a fluke-sort-of temple shot.

I'm not being deliberately critical or anything. Joshua won well in the end. But he definitely has stamina issues he will need to work on.

Looks like Joshua has a shit chin. This division is lost. There's officially NO Lewis/Tyson/Holy/Bowe talents in sight.

Joshua-Wilder would be fun though. Just basically comes down to whoever lands big first. Neither one can handle the other's power.

He walked right into a big left hook, didn't go down and recovered quickly. Anyone can get hurt. Admittedly it doesn't ANSWER the questions about his punch resistance but to just write him off as having a shit chin based on round two is an absurd overreaction.

Lol, it sure is. For a guy that followed boxing for so long, X say some crazy noob shit sometimes. A 15 fights prospect getting wobbled is not the end of the world. Hell, ali got hurt a lot more by bum ass cooper. By the way he overreacts, i sometime wonders if hes not a woman
