Apocalypse would tear them to peaces with his telekinetic powers before they come close to him. They didn't make them from metals so that magneto couldn't hurt them. That wouldnt effect Apocalypse. Also, Apocalypse cannot die.

I don't like the crappy costume. They should've done it like Marvel/Disney did Ultron. CG.

    This looks cataclysmically wank.

The cheap robotic-looking thing at the end just vaguely reminds me of Ronan The Accuser (only, he was good in Guardians Of The Galaxy)

    Fail.

Mr. Sinister was always my favorite. I'm highly disappointed he's never been incorporated in any of the movies.

what are the avengers anyway? the movies are unwatchable...iron man = annoying one liners all the time, thor = kevin sorbo with a hammer, guy who shoots arrows well, etc :scratcher:

I agree in the sense that the X men feature far better and more interesting characters than the avengers and has infinitely more potential. So far though the Marvel Cinematic Universe has created better comic book films than Fox has....so on screen Avengers is winning, IMO.

The first two X men films, First class and Days of Future Past were very good films...just not quite Avengers standard.

That shit has made a combined $2.9 billion in grosses with just TWO films in a span of three years versus X-Men franchise which has grossed about the same amount with SEVEN films in a span of 15 years!

    Means fuck-all.

Chinatown (1974) grossed $US30-40mill...yet it's probably 2 billion times better than both of those shitters combined.

I didn't care too much for X-Men Days of Future Past. But X-Men First Class was EASILY better than any gay ass Avengers Iron Man/Hulk/Thor bullshit.

What in the Hell does that have to do with anything?

The shitty ass Hangover franchise also grossed a lot more than many comedies which were WAY better.

    My point exactly.

Taken grossed more than No Country For Old Men. Guess that makes Taken a better movie, huh?

    GTFOH both of you!

Marvel's The Avengers was a critically acclaimed hit. Has a 92% fresh rating on Rottentomatoes versus X-Men: First Class which got only 87% score (not bad, but not great). Is all a matter of taste. Chinatown bored me to tears the couple of times I tried to watch it. No Country For All Men is a very good film to watch once. I was not trying to say The Avengers is the greatest thing since the invention of Coca-Cola, but it is far from being shitty. You didn't like it? is okay, millions of other people did, and the critics reviews are there to debunk the 'shit' tag.

I'll actually take your side on Chinatown. I find Chinatown to be an overrated movie, and I say that as a HUGE Jack Nicholson fan. I've never considered it top all time great movie.

Chinatown and Taxi Driver = Two most overrated movies of the 70s.

Network = Most underrated movie of the 70s.

I don't get the Avengers hate.

    Fantastic film.

X men were darker and more adult oriented, so I can understand why some prefer them (I prefer those aspects too), but Avengers did the superhero ensemble perfectly: had them fighting against one another (Hulk vs Thor and Iron man vs Thor were great!)...then had them united with Captain America leading the charge. It was done well and represented the comics very well.

The first two Xmen films were excellent but still didn't quite give us the X men ensemble with Cyclops leading the charge etc (First film tried it...but it was too short and didn't feature enough X men...sequel was better but didn't have an all out battle). X men first class was great in terms of story and acting, and DOFP had a brilliant first scene when you finally saw iceman in his full glory....but too little of it. That first scene...is what all the x men movies should have been.

To be completely honest I have never been a JLaw/Mystique fan. She is a great actress, but Rebecca Romijn owned that role and at 43 can still get her body painted blue and I'll give Fox all my money!

Rebecca Romijn is indeed the definitive Mystique! J Law turns me on more though for some reason.

JLaw as Mystique looks a little chubby in her face and her body is not as great as Rebecca Romijn. anyway neither looks remotely like the comicbook version.
