This is how you defend yourself in a street fight

Probably, but not how it would go against every boxer.

That's why I would never engage in a street fight. There's no ref to separate you if you want to tap out. You're at your opponent's mercy and given the popularity of MMA these days I suspect that more and more guys on the street are practiced in submissions and ground game.

afaik, this is the only high class MMA fighter we have in a video of a street fight.
He gets his ass whooped by a boxing coach

You guy's think of a streetfight as a controlled element, kind of like an MMA fight where stomps and knees on the ground are allowed (which is what the video Anthony post is, not a street fight at all). That's not the case at all, you have to watch your back at all time in case someone hit you from the back, as Hut Hut said, you don'T want to be on the ground because any asshole could soccerkick the fuck out of your face, etc.. Usually, it'S 20-30 seconds of pure agression before things get broken up and in that scenario, I'd usually favor the guy with the better hands, usually, the boxer.

You are talking about getting jumped as opposed to a fight. Big difference

I don't know how old you are but that's that's overwhelmingly been the reality right now and has been so for at least the last 15 years. Most fights (when you're out of high school) happens in a bar/club environment and pretty much always end in a wild melee.

Again, two separate things. We are talking a street fight meaning no rules, not a fight vs several people. You are going past the discussion and into a different scenario.

i saw a fight in tempe, arizona a few years ago on mill avenue. a strip of bars/clubs that is frequented by mostly ASU students.

young mexican dude in his mid to late teens and some white dude who appeared in his 20s were talking shit to each other. they squared up and the mexican dude was beating the fuck outta him. landing a lot of punches and busting dude up. after about a minute the white dude was able to grab him, take him to the ground and started to choke him out. as he was on the verge of putting him to sleep, the kids girlfriend punted the white guys face like reggie muthafuckin roby

is that a victory for MMA?? cuz that guy got brutalized from the kick

The art is far less important than the person. Street fighting is another thing altogether compared to fighting in the ring or cage. Some dudes are very good at it.

Not really. Fights are usually fucking chaotic. No bell, other people around, what's going on, what's this guy's intentions? split seconds. You end up on the ground arm bariring a guy and you're probably getting your skull stomped by a third party or worse.

Lol again, that's a different fucking scenario. The point of the thread was who would win between two people with different rules or lack of rules in place. A setup bout. Not who would win against a person and his boys. Not sure why that is difficult to understand from the geniuses on here

Well, of course we will have difficulty understanding this since not only these are your criterias (nothing like this is mentioned in the op) but you never stated them before

It would be a victory for mma. The fight between the two people was fair and the mma guys was about to win until he was sucker kicked. Mma doesn't grant one super human powers and a third eye to see attacks from behind.

The he point of the thread was a street fights or mma fight vs Two people. Not how would the mma guy do after fucking up one person and then getting jumped.

Whats the point of including 'the street' if it's just an mma scenario outside an octogon? The main difference between the street and sports fighting is the element of chaos and uncertainty - those elements massively swing the advantage from grappling back, basically, to boxing and low risk muay thai tactics like leg kicking

No offense, but can you read? Cm vs fm is the title of the threAd. Not cm vs fm and his boys. And thee op mentioned Floyd having 8oz global and Conor having 4oz. Clearly he is talk about a scheduled fucking fight and who would prevail, not who would survive a melee attack from behind by a bunch of people watching their man getting ground and pounded.

Sure, just like a washed up Botha was going to get koed repeatedly by kicks when he entered k-1 (his only ko loss was vs Mighty Mo, by punches, who is basically a poor boxer, even though he fought legend like Aerts, Bojansky, Sefo and Lebanner, and imo, he beat 3 of those 4).

Familarize yourself with mma rules and you will see the difference between the two. Many thing you can do it a street fight that are banned in mma. Hair pulling, eye gouging, biting, spitting, etc etc etc.

Well, there's also a quote about it being a real fight, whatever that means seems to be different to many person but imo, a real fight is not something organized, and as Hut said, there's a element of chaos and uncertainty involved in it that favors boxing. So are low blows involved, eye gouging, small joint manipulation, biting?? If so, grappling lose a lot of it's effectiveness. Also, whats is the "environment", a crowded club ? a small enclosed area ? a huge yard ? And who talked anything about the guy being jumped ? But just the threat of it being a possibility (like it is in a real fight) changes the dynamic a lot. Furthemore, in a real fight, McGregor is not in his super sexy spandex, but probably in pants and is also not warmed up, which severely limits his kicking potential.

Whatever. He mentioned both wearing gloves and at 150. Odds of both being on weight just meeting in the street to fight while coincidently wearing gloves is a bit ridiculous. Clearly the fight is scheduled. Clearly the fight is between two people. The fact I'm entertaining you two is foolish from my end but. Have insomnia so you're welcome.

Buakaw couldn't even destroy a mediocre boxer like Kalakoda in his own setting, no way he does it to Floyd in a cage, where falling to the ground after kicking actually has some consequences.

Yet them fighting in a so called no hold barred fight, in some random guy's backward is completely realistic

Edit : But to be honest, it doesn seem to be the scenario envisioned by Dark Magus (even though he mentionned aoki vs Ali which defnitvely had rules), but as so many topic do, this one seemed to differ in a Connor vs Floyd in a streetfight.

Edit # 2 : Starting with me lol

    Ali v Inoki, June 26 1976
The fight was contested under specially created rules. Due to varying claims over the years, it is difficult to know the reasons behind their implementation. It has been alleged that the fight was originally to have been a worked match. According to boxing journalist Jim Murphy, the original plan was for Ali to accidentally punch the referee and knock him out. While standing over the referee, looking concerned, Inoki would knock him out with a kick to the head. The referee would then come around and count Ali out, giving Inoki the win in front of his fellow countrymen, and allowing Ali to save face. However, when Ali found out he had to lose, he refused, turning the fixed fight into a real one.

According to Inoki, Ali and his entourage had signed on expecting the fight to be an exhibition rather than a real contest. It was only when they went to see Inoki train six days before the fight, and saw him use a series of brutal drop-kicks and violent grapples on sparring partners, that they sensed it would be a legitimate fight. Inoki alleges he was asked by Ali "OK, so when do we do the rehearsal?", with Inoki replying: "No, no. This isn't an exhibition. It's a real fight!" *

In the days leading up to the fight Ali and Inoki's representatives began to renegotiate the rules. **

A list of restrictions was imposed on Inoki. ***

He would not be allowed to throw, grapple or tackle Ali, and could not land any kicks unless he had one knee on the mat. Ali's camp also demanded that the rules not be made public before the fight. Judo expert and US Marine Donn Draeger noted: "The rules have been so seriously modified that the contest is no longer boxing versus wrestling. Unless this were done there would be no way to choreograph the match and make it look convincing. Ali can grapple or punch the man down; Inoki is not allowed to leg-dive or tackle. That latter restriction is the same as prohibiting Ali from jabbing. What a farce!" ****

    * at this point, Mayweather would call his lawyers, authorities, promoters and have incredible restrictions and stipulations imposed on McGregor

    ** read, Mayweather's representatives

    *** see what I mean?

    ****
