He's not fighting differently than before. Only that's he has rebuilded his confidence, which was crushed following the ko to Silva and Browne. YOu could really see in the ROthwell fight that he wasn't the same fighter

Rda has gone through an 07 pac esque transformation. Here's a guy who was a good but very beatable fighter who is now a very high level destroyer of world class foes. Sucks to see cerrone lose like that though.

Cerrone is simply the perfect gatekeeper. He'll destroys the sub-elite guys, but as soon as he increase his level of opposition, he's worthless.

I remember him blowing his load in the first round. an allout aggressive approach trying to score early KOs. So he is fighting differently than before in my eyes. He is way more cautious reserving his energy. I think he is gaining confidence by this kinda like Wlad after he became more boring. His chin is still glass though and I agree his confidence was way down after all these KO losses.

It depended on the opponents. Against Werdum, Lesnar and even Big foot Silva, he used the same carefull aprroach he used tonight and was very conservative with his strikes.

Agreed, he's fun to watch and has a cool "backstory" (cowboy hat and all this even though he's from Colorado) so it gets him a bit overrated. Fact is, he is simply not cutting it at the elite level.

He is definitely using a completely different approach. And shedding all the roid muscle has significantly improved his cardio.

As I said earlier in this thread, he impressed me in the Nelson fight. He used good movement and never got over zealous. And he was able to go three rounds without fading.

Disagree. Against the guys you mentioned, Overeem came out of his corner as the aggressor and constantly moved forward. Last night AND in the Nelson fight he was comfortable moving backward and controlling range.

Maybe you don't want to give credit to Greg Jackson or something, but Overeem is a far better fighter since switching to Jackson-Wink.

I give Jackson credit for rebuilding his confidence, which was shattered after the Browne fight.

Nate Diaz looks like he's at his best again. He fought a great fight against Michael Johnson. Apparently he called out Conor McGregor in the post fight interview. I had to look it up online, since they censored almost every word he said in the live broadcast on Fox.

I never thought I'd see JDS fight so tentatively. He hardly did anything through the whole fight. The aggressive power punching guy who knocked out Cain Velasquez might be gone for good.

I 100% agree. Junior was getting up. Just because he was getting hit doesn't change the fact that he was fine and getting back to his feet.

Anyone think the easy win by Dos Anjos convinces McGregor to stay at 145?

Worthless? He's a top ranked fighter who whips contenders for a living. Have some respect.

Agreed, Cerrone is a slow starter and that was exploited the other night. Shame he didn't make it out of the first round

    No.
McGregor won't resist the chance to blast out another top Brazilian.

How he fights at an increased 7-10lb is anyone's guess....but he must be confident-as-fuck right now, and that goes a long way.

Well there was a reason he didn't make it out of the first round, he got badly hurt to the body and it isn't the first time that that is what led to him getting stopped.

I thought Diaz was washed up and thought he looked atrocious during the first few minutes of that fight. Was surprised he still has it.

I'm sorry Overeem's scary butt won, now we have to watch more of this guy.

When Nate is at his best, he can beat almost anyone at lightweight. He's just vulnerable to strong wrestlers. In a pure striking fight I'd pick him over most of the top 10 guys. Maybe not Pettis.
