I quite like the world today.

 

It has it's advantages no doubt: Internet (especially youtube and netflix), PS4, Xbox1, iphones, Flat screen TVs etc etc......but its taken 3 steps forward and 4 steps back also.

 

How has it gone backwards? the job and house markets are worse....but then again the actual jobs and houses you get are generally more pleasant. Nearly everything else is better.

 

We have more music now! I can listen to Captain Beefheart, Talking Heads, Pixies, Mogwai and Death Grips any time i like. 5 years ago that wasn't true!

 

Admittedly fitbaw is now heavy pish.

 

Backwards morally.

Men changing into women, women changing into men...and these transgenders (particularly the male-to-female) fighting for the right to not have to divulge their true chromosomal origin...to prospective sexual partners. Men marrying men, women marrying women.....and then being allowed to raise children in that environment. Religious people being persecuted for trying to uphold their beliefs.

Traditional family (the foundation of society) on its way to extinction....now that traditional gender roles are frowned upon, marriage isn't being respected...and these alternate families are being pushed to the forefront.

It's a mess.....but I agree with you on the houses and technology and music and TV and shit.

 

The whole transgender shit is insanely peripheral, man. I wonder if there are even any more trannies and what not than there were 50 years ago. You always had them at the margins of things....

I'm pretty sure homosexuality was just as prevalent in the past centuries but because of the TABOO, it wasn't as EXPOSED...Nowadays, there are more people "coming out of the closet" as opposed to back then when it was openly frowned upon and "not correct," people kept it in. As far as the whole transgender thing, I don't know when exactly it started that a man can become a woman or vice versa, but it all has existed for a long time. It's only natural that over time these things become more exposed and more prevalent.

I've never met a transgender, but I have gay family members that have refused to come out and admit they are.

Music and football are way worse nowadays. Without question.

Boxing was bad but it is coming back now in a big way.

Technology is obviously better, it will be even better in the next ten years, I'm not sure if it has been that beneficial though. Also, I've never met a tranny.
