Wasn't crazy about this movie. As a Star Wars film it wasn't bad, but judging it as a stand alone film it had lots of little annoyances in the story and even a few cringe worthy ones. I disliked it enough to the point I left the theater thinking I won't watch the sequel. I wasn't surprised either, with the shitty unbalanced job I felt Abrahms did with Star Trek I wasn't surprised he would kind of screw this up too. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, but for being a Star Wars film, going off the hype and the years of waiting it definitely was a disappointment. 6/10.

  2. I'm watching it now....and 10 minutes in, I know exactly what you mean about 'annoyances'.
Already I've picked up on four annoying things....the black Stormtrooper being one of them.

    (only joking, Sly!)

Looks like JJ tried too hard to please the fanboys...but I guess what else could he do?

  3. #5: Daisy Ridley: as annoying as Keira Knightly...looks and sounds out-of-place.

  4. #6: Bodega: "Yeahhhhh!!! Yeahhhh!! Did you see that?? Did you see that?!! (homeboyyyy)"

    Reverting to (Ghetto) type.

  5. Last 35 mins.

    Turned it off. Bored. :dunno:

    Seen all this before.

This movie was made specifically for the fanboys. It will get serious from here on out. But according to Lucas he wa told they wanted to make this one for the fans.

  7. As long as Lucas stays away from the writing or directing of this trilogy there's hope for it. If Lucas is involved suddenly Supreme Leader Snoke will become "Darth" Snoke and he'll be the father of Emperor Palpatine and suddenly Fin will be the long lost son of Mace Windu and Po will be Rey's brother...etc etc etc

Lucas doesnt own star Wars anymore. He has no more connection to it. Pretty sad IMO cause the man is creative and can add value to these movies.

  9. He can't add shit. I agree that he is creative...and I give him all credit for the very first star wars film back in 1977. But creativity is all he has...he can't build on anything....that's not his talent. He created this wonderful backstory in the first film....others helped him build on it in the following two films...and then his "creativity" lead him to change virtually all the story....in the prequels.

Whatever. Im gonna be honest with you, you sound like a woman.

  11. Please. You just seem hell bent on defending and making excuses for this guy. Being critical of someone and bringing to light their shortcomings doesn't make me a woman.

I am not a fan of all his work, but the dude spent his life on this fucking world you love. I give him more credit for it.

He also did a great job with Revenge of the Sith. Which was really good.

  14. There is a point with all creative people (movies, music, etc), when the creativity definately runs it course...they all have a classic 'purple-patch', then a body of mediocrity.

However, they're always remembered (and reverred) for that 'classic period'

There is speculation Snoke could be Darth Plagueis, Palpatines Sith master.
And there was an item description on Amazon for a puzzle or something that said Fin was Landos son, though I lend that less credence.

  16. I hope he comes back for #8.
It will give a massive boost to #blacklivesmatter.

  17. "Really good"? You've got to be kidding!

There are so many ridiculous things in that film I don't even know where to start.

  18. Yes, I read that. If Lucas were directing that would be his origins fo sho...you know how Lucas always feels the need to fill gaps we didn't even know existed.

There are ridiculous things in all 7 movies. Your point? Sith was terrific. And all the critics who bashed the first two loved this one.

  20. Sith was ludicrous. It was entertaining in parts and had some good action sequences, but the plot and the screenplay (and acting) were atrocious. It was better than the first two films, but that's not saying much.

  21. Padme lost the will to live...and so died when everything else with her physically was perfect. Lost the will to live having just given birth to two children. Yeah right. I thought Leia had some vague memory of her mother? Lucas forgot all about that.

Anakin is given some vague promise that he may learn the power to save padme, and so he decides because of this to turn to the dark side with his first order of business...start killing Jedi children. Yeah, just like that. And then....when he finds out that Padme wasn't saved...he stayed a Sith...WTF?!

Wasn't Obi traveling around on some giant salamander? lol

Darth Vader is a whiny petulant child that says shit like "I have brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to my new Empire. " That's aint the Darth Vader that we grew up with, pal. Darth Vader was a powerful leader of men, a great man with fortitude and charisma (albeit evil).

It seemed as though the plot was conceived by a child and the screenplay was written by a simpleton.

  22. And acted by Down's Syndromers.

That's the old canon which J. J. Abrams & Disney tossed away through the window.

  24. While watching Star Wars 7 at home on my laptop for free, I thought to myself:
"LOLz, what a bummer for all those who knew what's going to happen while they're watching this!"

I thought the same thing. I was happy to be in the dark.

  26. Thank Obi-Wan Kenobi you didnt click on something you shouldn't have!

The Force is strong with you, Anthony.
