Boxing is at a pretty low point unfortunately. Who can get excited for a Jessie Vargas fight ?

Espn fights are becoming hbo/showtime level now

boxing is seriously in the shitter. you would think pbcrap would have hbo and showtime elevating their game. as it is, i could get rid of hbo/showtime and just watch pbcrap for free. what is the difference? crap is crap.

Not to worry, Neil knows that Thurman-Porter is the fight to save boxing.

Still no word on Thurman-Porter and it's supposed to go down in March.

One of the most blatant duck jobs I've ever seen. Never thought the same guy that would always say "Don't duck me, son" would be ducking and dodging scrub ass Porter.

not so much thurman/porter. it is thurman/someone good that people want to see. porter fits the bill imo.

I dunno about this one. Nothing compelling about watching Thurman beat a man whom Porter just beat 11-1. Thurman would stop Broner, that would be the most compelling part.

I'm with you, however, that I'd RATHER see Thurman vs Spence, Brook, or Garcia than Porter.

I could see Thurman-Porter starting off as a good fight, and ending a sloppy one. I could also see Thurman stopping him.

vargas record is phony. he lost a few fights and is a very mediocre fighter. i saw him get a gift ringside vs some russian guy in vegas. its an ESPN FNF type main event or at best a BAD undercard.

GGG/ Chocolatito on the same card in LA on March 5th. (Source: fightnews.com)

    >>Three-division world champion and current pound for pound contender Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (44-0 , 38 KOs) says he’s defending his WBC flyweight world crown against former world champion Giovanni Segura (32-4-1, 28 KOs) on March 5 in Los Angeles. “Chocolatito” stated his fight would again be the co-feature with WBA/IBF and WBC interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin headlining.<<

Vargas is extremely mediocre and has below average speed. Ali will win with ease. He'll beat Vargas more convincingly than Timmy did. And Bradley beat Vargas 8-4.

pretty much. he landed a good punch at the end of one fight and still lost wide. ive seen vargas enough to know what he is. if he is someone to watch for then the game is pretty fucked up at this point.

Fully agreed with Neil here. Vargas is pretty shitty, he really is REED. And I was saying that BEFORE the Bradley fight. Yeah, he rocked Braddles in the closing seconds but to quote Wesley Snipes in WMCJ, "The sun even shines on a dog's ass somedays."

His performance up until the closing moments of the fight was highly disappointing.

I was never that impressed with Ali. Good win for Vargas. He'd be a good opponent for Spence or Brook.
