Been watching some of their fights lately and wondering how a fight between the two of them in their primes would play out. Sanders had quicker hands with single shots, particularly the straight left. Morrison's combos were quicker and more fluid. The Tubbs fight makes Sanders look chinny, while the Vitali fight makes his chin look great. It was probably in the middle, an okay chin. Morrison had a weak chin. Neither guy had the best stamina, but Morrison did have some mid-to-late round stoppages in tough fights, and went 12 against Foreman while using his legs a lot. Morrison showed some real issues with the southpaw styles of Vaulin and Hipp. Does Sanders get him out of there early? Does Morrison survive the early storm and stop Sanders later? Morrison rose from knockdowns and being hurt numerous times to win...even stopping Hipp with a broken jaw and broken hand, which is pretty insane. How does this fight play out?
Yes, he did indeed have a MONSTER left hook. If he can get Corrie in close quarters, it would help him a lot. He had his left hook and uppercut down to a T, and if he gets into a phone booth/prison-CELL type fight, the ref would COUNT to 10 after Morrison DROPS Sanders.
Tommy had MAGIC in that left hook. He would give Sanders nightmares like FREDDIE with a arsenal hotter than MERCURY. In the end, he'd be "winning" like SHEEN.
Morrison was a HeavIer hitter, although not by Very much. He was probably a tad faster as well in my not so humble opinion. victory depends on who lands the big punch first. I agree though that Tommy probAbly wIns Due to hiS vaunted left hook plus I'd like to add that he proved his mettle in beating Razor Ruddock.
He ACQUIRED that hook from Philly trainers to make up for the fact that his chin was far from IMMUNE to punishment. This DEFICIENCY made it necessary for him to have power as the equalizer or risk looking like a person with Down's SYNDROME after his career if fighters didn't respect his power.
:giggle: Beyond the fun if you combine Sanders power with Tommy's chin it could quickly. If Morrison gets out of the early rounds unscathed he should be able to take out the golfer.
