My list. No particular order: Jack Torrance Daniel Plainview Hannibal Lecter Michael Corleone Anton Chigurh Honorable mention: Norman Bates, Little Bill, Amon Goeth.
I must be a villain too then because I related to him in the first two Godfather films. I would have done exactly the same things he did: killing the heads of the five families, Carlo Rizzi, Sal Tessio, Fredo...all a dem!
Joe Pesci's character in Goodfellas has no fucking argument over Michael Corleone. You only say that because he was more impulsive, and more over-the-top. He was just an impulsive maniac, that's all. Corleon turned from a choir boy into a cold, calculating, ruthless sonuvabitch. Pesci could NEVER in his life duplicate what Pacino did with Corleone.
Corleone was a much better and deeper character, I agree. Where we disagree is that I don't see Corleone as a Villain. However I will replace Pesci with Anton Chigurh
I just find Pesci's Goodfellas villain to be a tad overrated. He was a good villain, but never seen him as top all time villain. Yes, Chigurh is miles better. That was an awesome year for villains.... you had Chigurh and Plainview both in the same year.
See...Pesci's character in Goodfellas for me was one of the scariest I've seen on film. It was precisely his impulsive maniacal nature why I thought he was great. however...Chigurh was even scarier...."Friendo".
