Entertaining as in FOTY, not laugh out loud entertaining. Evander Holyfield's most entertaining loss: Bowe I Jermain Taylor's most entertaining loss: Pavlik I etc.
Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier's most entertaining losses are to each other in FOTC and Manila. Manny Pacquiao's most entertaining was the 4th JM Marquez fight. The loss to Erik Morales was an exciting fight too. Erik Morales's would be the 2nd fight with Pacquiao, although a lot of people would probably pick the 3rd fight with MAB. MAB's most entertaining loss would be the first Morales fight, which I felt he won. That is probably my #2 fight of the 21st century behind Corrales-Castillo 1. Fernando Vargas's most entertaining loss was to Tito. Classic fight. Oscar De La Hoya: Shane Mosley 1 Shane Mosley: Miguel Cotto Miguel Cotto: Antonio Margarito 1 Arturo Gatti: Ivan Robinson 1 is slightly better than the first Micky Ward fight IMO. Micky Ward: Antonio Diaz Yaqui Lopez: Matthew Saad muhammad 2 Iran Barkley: Roberto Duran Thomas Hearns: Marvin Hagler Evander Holyfield: Riddick Bowe 1 Bernard Hopkins: Jermain Taylor 1, I guess? Not much action in it, but it was very close and suspenseful down the end.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this topic just a matter of coming up with the best fights you've ever seen and then just listing the losers? So you may as well ask us to merely list the most entertaining fights....
His inspired showing against Sal Sanchez was great too... He was tougher than leather, couldn't hurt the guy
Good fights, Laporte got a little unlucky. Pedroza should have been DQ'd and I thought the Chavez fight could have gone either way.
Laporte was too green in the Sanchez bout (15-1) and while yes, he was a tough cookie, he got a nasty beating with both eyes so swollen I was expecting the fight to be stopped at any moment.
He BARELY lost to Pedroza... I thought Chavez won clean but close... I'm actually impressed by Chavez brawling it out with LaPorte because nobody else fought him tht way... LaPorte was not a good guy to trade with because he was very strong and you couldn't hurt him, but Chavez went toe-to-toe with him
He fought his heart out though... gutsy showing and he walked through the sharpest punches Sanchez landed on him
True. Laporte had a big heart and enough cojones to fight til the last second against the much superior Mexican champion. Safety first Boxers today should be obligated to watch that performance by Laporte to remind them what a real boxer is.
He had the benefit of a cast iron jaw... Fact is most guys can't fight that way without getting knocked out... LaPorte was ridiculously durable
Juan Diaz vs JM Marquez 1 was essentially the perfect fight for me. It was a war, it was a methodical destruction, and it ended with the baby cow unconscious. I could watch it 50 times a day.
