Well at the very least he wasn't going to get any faster, and it is almost 4 years ago. Never having had solid fundamentals to begin with, he might have improved a bit in certain areas but he's not a smart fighter and won't likely have developed a career-lengthening strategy, apart from fighting smaller, weaker men.

Garcia got busted open in the 2nd round and was reddened in the face and his corner were concerned. He lost that round. Revisionism here is retarded.

I gotta disagree. I don't think Garcia KOing Khan was luck at all.

I think it basically comes down to Garcia being a limited fighter, but Khan being an EXTREMELY flawed fighter.

Most times, limited will beat flawed.

Garcia beats Khan EVERY SINGLE TIME.

On PAPER, Khan could theoretically beat Garcia.

But he won't. He just won't. He's too dumb.

He'll run into something at some point in the fight.

I never said Garcia was lucky to win.

I said he lucked out with the neck shot.........on several levels.

One, he only landed the shot because he threw it and he only threw it because Khan, idiotically, was throwing salvos when he should have just continued to bust up Garcia with the 1-2.

Secondly, it could have just as easily hit thin air or Khans shoulder.

Khan responded better to the headshots that followed than he did to the neck shot. Garcia was landing Sunday Punches that did not have the effect of the neck shot.

I think Garcia COULD and probably WOULD have gone on to win {a la Maidana, who withstood a torrid few opening rounds to be one shot or two from victory}, but another few rounds of what he was already getting may well have left him desperate and more and more open himself.

    That's broadly how I feel.

He could suffer a confidence collapse, a sort of a "Oh shit here I go again" moment and get tooken out early.

Most likely he will impress early, win some rounds, get a bit flabbergasted, trade, and get caught and dropped often enough to lose.

But I am still not sure about Garcia. Garcia has regressed too and has not impressed recently.

Ironically, I am not sure Garcia would have handled Collazo any better than Khan did.

  8. I don't think it's a matter of him being dumb, it's a matter of him not having good punch resistance.

  9. I think Ezekiel Brook is the best Welterweight out there anyway. Americans would by high on Thurman, but Brook would beat him surprisingly easily.

I think it's between Brook and Spence. But both guys will be at 154 lbs within the next couple of years. Brook sooner. Especially with the potential of fighting Liam Smith.

As for Khan, yes his chin is absolutely a joke.

But his ring IQ... :pathetic: He telegraphs his right hand way too much, and comes in straight lines. That's one of the reasons he's so easy to hit. Khan has really not improved at all, in fact he's regressed, I would argue. Garcia is no world beater, but I cannot say he's gotten any worse. He's basically the same fighter.

Other than run, I'm not sure what he could do to win.
