Alvarez, Beterbiev (yeah, I know they both fight on PBC, but Yvon Michel, their promoter, has stated he would have them fight Kovalev on HBO for the right $$$), Sullivan Barrera, Gonzalez, Brahmer, Marcus Browne, La Bomba Rodriguez and probably a couple of others I forgot. Not all are better than Pascal, but at least, it'S something we didn't see before (and what we already saw wasn't a particularly competitive fight).
While I think it's more their promoters who won't compromised, yeah, this is becoming childish. And even though I prefer Kovalev, it's more of his team fault since they demand the fight be on HBO even though it means less money for everyone involved and he looks stupid when he calls Adonis "Chickenson" since he's the one who withdrawn from the WBC 50-50 purse bid
This wasn't a good showcase. Kovalev beating a completely demoralised and confused Pascal is nothing to write home about, especially considering that he already crushed a much better version of PAscal.
Also Brahmer has weaseled his way out of every credible challence for years. He doesn't fight anybody for any amount of cash and should be ignored
Browne, Bertebiev and Avlarez are PBC, which is the 4th ? And as I said, Beterbiev and Alvarez promoter stated he was willing to have them fight Kovalev on HBO
There's no way in Holy Hell they're throwing Marcus Browne in with Kov ANYTIME soon. He's still just a prospect, and he's still young. They ain't throwin him in with the division kingpin when he hasn't even fought a contender yet. They're not gonna ruin his career before it starts.
beterbiev turned down a fight against kovalev. haymon and hbo aint working together. deal with it for now until PBC dissolves. rodriguez is PBC. basically of the guys you listed the only available guy is the dude who dropped a decision (albeit disputed) to pascal last fight.
Legacy ENHANCED!!!... Roy's Had ELITE Rappers During his Ringwalks, Rhymed During his OWN Ringwalks and Now Rhymed During Someone Else's Ringwalk... "UN...HEARD OF!!!!" - George Foreman REED:elmo:
Indeed...Kovalev's a "FIGHTER" in the Truest Sense of the Word... "Yes, I Would Fight More Rounds and Make Him More Pain"...CHILLING Shit...& Kovalev Says it Calm and As a Matter-of-Fact, NO Trace of Braggadocio or Emotion... agREED, You GOTTA Looooooooooooooooove this Dude... REED:bravo:
Nah, you decided that he was the only guy available. Rodriguez fought Ward on HBO even though, aifak, he was signed with Haymon. Beterbiev turned down the fight vs Kovalev because the $$ wasn't good enough. No reason to think GYM wouldn'T let Alvarez fight Kovalev if they were willing to do it with Beterbiev, a far more valuable prospect. Barrera was also available, the Ward fight was signed after Pascal-Kovalev II was. And who say Braehmer wouldn't have accept a fight with Kovalev ? Might as well try it instead of making the garbage Pascal rematch. Let's not try to revised history. Pascal-Kovalev II was hyped by HBO as soon as the first fight was done. Sure, Kovalev options are limitied with the PBC vs HBO bullshit, but it was no reason for HBO to put all of their weight behind the meaningless rematch instead of at least trying to make far more meaningful fights.
Braehmer :: You two canuck roid brothers are either naive or retarded. I lean toward the latter. Braehmer don't fight outside Europe Hbo don't work with haymon. Rodriguez wasn't with him when he fought ward. Rodriguez is a scrub anyhow
Well I guess you're pretty much the only simpleton who was happy with that fight. Pretty much everyone were complainning about this match-up, and X even started a topic saying it was one of the most pointless rematch ever. With fans like you, no wonder we get served these kind of crap match-up. Pascal should never have gotten this rematch, especially since he needed a gift to get pass Gonzalez. Not to mention that Kovalev has shown that he'll go to his opponent backyard, so Braehmer only fighting in Europe is irrevelant. Anyways, the point (which unsuprisingly enough, went over your head) is that HBO first choice was to make a Kovalev-Pascal rematch, and they never really tried to make a better fight ( the Beterbiev offer was obvioulsy gonna be refused, considering the guy doesnt even have 10 fights)
What's funny is that you're such an idiot, that you didn't even realised that the article you posted actually contradict what you're saying, since it's clearly written that HBO was willing to let Betterbiev (a Haymon fighter) fight on their network.
The article contradicts claims by some shit bird that the money wasn't good for beterbiev Haymon and hbo won't work together, it's been proven with Stevenson and now beterbiev, whether it be haymon or hbo who refuse to make a deal it hasn't happened Was the beterbiev offer refused because of inexperience or money, like tweedle dumb suggested? I never said I was happy with the fight it was a shitty fight I said there weren't any better opponents
At the end of the day, money could make any offer acceptable. Im sure Beterbiev would have accepted the fight if He was offered the same money that Pascal made. Now considering that Betdrbiev doesnt have even 10 fights, and that he's a blue chip prospect. There is no way that he would have accepted 500 k ( they would have maybe sold 5 ppv in canada, so the ppv cut wouldnt have made any difference). Even an idiot like you should be able to realise that. And gtfo with this no better opponent crap. Even gonzalez would have been a much more interesting match up, considering that most tought he won against Pascal and that we already saw kovy beat up pascal. For some weird reason, you re hellbent on defending HBO, even tought its obvious that they fucked up badly in this situation.
i dont give a shit about HBO. to me it was just a showcase for kovalev not an intriguing fight and none of the other guys available were any more interesting. only compelling fights for him are vs ward, stevenson or beterbiev your guy michel said it was a fair offer to beterbiev and the money was right
He said that cause at the time he wanted to mend fences with Duva. It really shows your naivety that you think that a measly 500k was a fair offer for throwing BEterbiev to the wolves. Guess you're the kind of persons who believes that liking some posts on fb will give you a few millions dollars.
I guess when you're used to the scraps and are easily entertained, the garbage HBO served last night wasn't so bad. and yes Rodriguez was with Haymon when he fought Ward, he signed with him in August 2013
At the time, Michel claimed he refused the offer because it would generate far more $$$ in 2016. In other words, he felt he wasn't offered enough.
