You have to look at the version of Toney that actually fought @ 175 and not the guy who had a career resurgence at Crusier and above. At light heavy JT was dour and accomplished nothing. Kovalev should be favoured.
Yup. JT never looked elite at 175. I mean, he had two close fights with Griffin. That's not good enough to favor him over Kov. Kov by UD.
Agreed. If it were the cruiserweight Toney I might pick him. He was very difficult to hit clean, he took a good punch, had great accuracy and work ethic when his opponent came after him, like Jirov did. However, Toney was able to slip punches and ride them when his opponents were slow enough. He would get hit by Kovalev and the pace would be harder for him
