Captain America: Civil War - Trailer/Discussion

We are all kids at heart given us the right product. "Man of Steel" did not brought out the kid inside us as it was too freaking dark and depressing. That works fine for Batman, but not Superman. DC and WB are freaking clueless on what the public loves in superhero movies. I just read about WB plans to reboot 'Green Lantern', a critical & box office fiasco from 4 years ago, like if audiences have such a short memory! And this is how they will tackle it: as Lethal Weapon in space 'Green Lantern Corps' target release date is on summer 2020.

 

I would watch a green lantern reboot.

DC belongs to Warner Bros and this is their milk cow. They are never going to sell DC to Disney or anyone.

Why reboot a 4 year old character? makes no sense. They should do what Marvel did to Hulk after 'The Incredible Hulk' failed to stand on its own: keep the character only in team movies like The Avengers. Many fanboys clamoring for a 'Hulk Planet' movie are delusional. It is a terrible idea. It will not happen, at least not in a solo Hulk movie. DC should bring back Green Lantern in the Justice League film, but not in another solo film. Makes no sense. Same goes with Fox and F4: reboot them within an X-Men movie team-up and it will make $1 billion! Reboot again in a solo film and they'll have another fiasco...unless Marvel makes that film.

 

Indeed, which is why an Aquaman movie is a TERRIBLE idea.

 

Yup.

But it could work only if it is directed by a visionary filmmaker who is allowed to revamp the whole thing and make it into a dark, scary concept of beings from the deep OR make the darn thing high camp ala Flash Gordon, closer in spirit to 1978's Warlords of Atlantis than to The Dark Knight.

Love it! Like I said before though...Team Captain America is over matched here....unless Scarlet witch turns out to be uber-powerful.

 

Lets break it down:

Natasha Romanov aka Black Widow vs Shield Agent 13 Sharon Carter: like if a simple Shield agent not named Peggy Carter can handle The Avenger former Russian assassin Romanov. No match.
Advantage:
Team Iron Man

Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier vs The Black Panther: Bucky is tamed now, but is still as strong as Captain America plus has that bionic vibranium arm. His opponent T'Challa aka Black Panther has superhuman strength equal to Captain America too, but is faster, way faster, has a bullet proof suit and those vibranium claws can tear anything plus he has been training in combat arts since he was a little boy in a Spartan-like childhood.

Team Iron Man

The Scarlet Witch vs The Vision. The Vision is an extremely powerful android, but at the end of the day he is just an A.I. Scarlet Witch is a mutant that has powers beyond her own comprehension and once she taps into her full potential, there is no force on Earth that could stop her. Anyway these two will end up getting married.

The Falcon vs War Machine: Unless Falcon has the help of Hawkeye, this is a mismatch. war machine can chase him flying and shoot him down in mid-air. But if Falcon is just the distraction to provide Hawkeye a target, then and only then War Machine could be shoot down with an explosive arrow. Individually none of them can match him.

Team Captain America

Spiderman vs Ant-Man: from what it appears this is an earlier teenager version of Spiderman who hasn't mastered his powers yet and Ant-Man already had his baptism of fire plus has a surprise under his sleeve that none of his rivals (or his team) is aware of. In the battle of bugs, the ant will beat the spider, or at least will not be squashed.

Advantage:
Team Captain America

Captain America vs Iron Man: Steve Rogers is a great fighter, but Tony Stark is a genius who always has a plan B, C & D just in case. Plus his armor has more ammunition than what the First Avenger can cope against. Only teamed with another partner, Bucky Barnes, can he stand a chance against Iron Man on a ground fight. Without a partner and if Iron Man decides to fly and shoot him projectiles is game over.

Team Iron Man

(is a good thing Thor and Hulk are not here as this Civil War would not have last much ::)

 

Yup there would be no civil war if Hulk and Thor were involved, there would just be destruction. They would, obviously have to be on separate teams for it to even be a fair fight.

<br>A lot of nerds are whining about Spidey's uniform, voice and that he looks fake. They are also asking for Marvel to bring back Andrew Garfield and his uniform. These morons are the same ones that probably will be buying the tickets online the first minute it becomes available.

 

Yeah, idiots. I see nothing wrong with the costume...although I do wish Andrew Garfield was involved.

As we've said, Iron Man's team is stacked. I dunno how Captain America hopes to even be competitive. The only heavy hitter he has on his side is Scarlet Witch. Still, her power seems limitless...she's almost Dark Phoenix.

 

Showing Spidey just made them another 100 million. This should obliterate Deadpool's record.

 

For the hordes of morons that keep saying that the Spider-Man in the trailer is not only CGI, but a bad one, Marvel has released High definition close-up photos to show that (a) is a real uniform not CGI and (b) that the person in the suit IS Tom Holland!

The eyes looks to have some retractable layers, so is not Deadpool-like cgi animation.

 

BTW the Spidey look from this movie is very close to Alex Ross comicbook version.

 

Nothing wrong with it. In fact it looks exactly like Spider-Man should look like.
Steve Ditko, John Romita, Ross Andru creations spring to mind...rather than whoever it is Panchy has mentioned...:dunno:

 

This film wont disappoint. Marvel know what they are doing.
