Martial Arts Master: The Life of Bruce Lee (1993) I don't know how I had never heard much less seen this old documentary on the life of Bruce Lee. By 1993 standards this could be a great documentary, second only to the first A&E Biography documentary that sadly was destroyed by request of the Bruce Lee estate as they didn't secured the rights before airing it (I got a copy I recorded on VHS when it aired). A second half-baked not as good officially approved documentary was made and is the one you find on the Biography channel & DVDs. But back to this one. Like I said, had I watched this documentary on 1993 I would have loved it as it offered new information from Lee's friends and students about him and his life, career. By today's standards, it is just more of the same: candid interviews with Taky Kimura, Richard Bustillo, Van Williams, Jim Kelly, Robert Heller, Brandon Lee and most notably Brother Henry, Lee's LaSalle school teacher. The clips shown from his movies look really like bad copies and uses most of the footage from The Making of Enter The Dragon when it was still a bootlegged copy so it looks awful. The information while accurate leaves many details out as it rushes everything on its 53 minutes length which can cause neophytes to stand by half truths. 5/10

Any mention in this movie about his professional 'fight record'?

Speaking of Bruce Lee. I love his movies, but I must say, SOMETIMES people really go overboard about him. I argued with a co-worker last week who HONESTLY and TRULY believes Bruce coulda beaten Ali in the ring.

Quite possibly the dumbest/funniest shit I've ever heard.

Unfortunately, this isn't a random incident: people go overboard about him ALWAYS.

Which is a shame, cause I'm a huge fan. He was a great action star, he had a lot of charisma, and he was in UNBELIEVABLE physical condition. But people go overboard about his abilities.

In a boxing ring, Ali woulda destroyed him within seconds. You're talking about a guy who was 5'7, 140 against a guy who was 6'3, 215.

I don't know about the physical-difference and practicalities of it as such, but Lee wouldn't have won on striking-ability.
He'd have to employ his entire repertoire.
