Greatest Height/Reach disparity where the shorter fighter won.

Discussion in 'General Boxing Discussion' started by Destruction and Mayhem, Feb 15, 2016.

  1. A brief Frazier/Fury MM discussion had me thinking. Typically, in boxing history the fighter that's on the losing end of a noticeable height/reach disparity usually loses...and badly.

    Examples are:

    Hearns/Duran
    Hearns/Cuevas
    Lewis-Tua
    Foster-Tiger
    Breland-Honeyghan

    etc

Give me the best example of the reverse: when a fighter at the losing end of a huge height/reach disparity wins easily.

Best examples I can think of are:

    Tyson-Williams
    Pacquiao-De La Hoya
    Dempsey-Willard
    Louis-Carnera

    Can anyone beat those?

Marciano has to have some victories that fit the category... Even for a heavyweight in the late 40s early 50s, a 67 inch reach is unheard of

Sandy Saddler had a longer reach than The Rock
