5 best weight peaks of all time (cannot include heavyweights)

This doesn't necessarily have to do with the amount of time the fighter reigned at such weight. Basically it comes down to what in your opinion were the best peaks in history, heavies NOT included. I think my top 5 would be (in no order):

147 Robinson
147 Leonard
135 Duran
168 Jones
135 Whitaker

 

+200 Ali

 

Disobedient bastard

 

I suppose a case could be made for Hearns @ 154 and Chavez @ 140.

147 Leonard has the be disqualified from this list as he lost to a former lightweight at this weight and barely scraped by hearns. Surely such a list must include fighters that were completely dominant at that weight, preferably unbeaten.

He lost to a former lightweight! A lightweight that was slightly past his prime according to his nuthuggers. A lightweight that would lose to Kirkland Laing, benitez and others shortly thereafter.

Jones fought an UNDEFEATED James Toney, a Toney that was considered as the P4P #1 by many (#2 at the very least), a Toney that had beaten Nunn and fucked up Barkley. Jones wiped the floor with him. THAT'S a peak to speak of...not...not Leonard. Toney at 168lbs was objectively more formidable than Duran was at 147lbs....and Jones didn't even struggle.

Circular logic again by the way. Duran is one of the greatest Welterweights because he beat Leonard who's one of the greatest because he beat Duran. Duran wasn't even undefeated when he fought Leonard and as I said would lose again and again soon after. There's NO excuse for Leonard losing to Duran. None. The greatest ever at that weight has no business losing to a former lightweight who never proved to be a dominant force above lightweight.

I realize these weight classes were made many moons ago but it has never made sense to me to have so many weight classes in weights that are so much less than the average person. What percentage of grown ass men in the world weigh 130 lbs or less? Yet eight out of the 17 weight classes in boxing are at that weight or below.

Now the average man probably weighs about 180-185 lbs or so. Around that weight, the two nearest weight classes are 25 lbs apart.
