Nate slapped the shit out of him before he took him down and choked him out. :)

Money. Dos Anjos wouldve absolutely took him apart, but he loses a payday 2 weeks away from a fight. Probably needs the money.

Nate is a LW fighter. SUre, they fought at WW, beacause Diaz didn't had the time to lose weight, but he isn't a WW (at least he hasn't been one for a coule of years)

Funny thing is they probably dont even do the Dos Anjos fight now and Diaz literally just lost to the guy.

At this point, it would be a comedy if they do the Dos Anjos fight

I think Holms is the least attractive but not necessarily ugly. Rhonda is the prettiest I think but if I had my choice of which to bang? It's Meisha by a mile. Girl got very nice tits and ass.

Yeah McGregor just killed himself, he has no appeal now and has to work himself back up. Even an Aldo rematch has no luster now.

It's one thing to go up two weights, it's another thing to go up two weights while not doing the necessary strength(steroid cycles) required to be strong enough for the division.

This probably was a stupid move by a lot of people involved, but at the end of the day it probably doesnt matter too much as hes still got a title at featherweight and people are going to have to beat him there.

I think that the Aldo rematch is probably the best move to do now

This is the greatest Diaz victory of all time. Maybe tied with Nick's gogoplata win over Gomi when Gomi was the #1 lightweight in the world.

Frankie is probably next in line. It's not like he's any less likely to beat Conor than Aldo in a rematch.

Have a hard time seeing Aldo getting KO'd again... at least in the fashion he did in the previous fight given his toolset.

Diaz was losing that fight badly. This wasn't a mismatch until it went to the ground. Nate Diaz showed the heart of true warrior tonight.

DIsagreed. COnnor was winning but Diaz was landing his share of leather. And it was obvious that Connor was gonna slow down, with all the fancy moves, and big punches, he was throwing.

Are you kidding me? It's an average win at best. Nate had every advantage and McGregory hadn't even proved he could win one division higher then he normally dwells.

What I saw was a little guy hitting a big guy and not hurting him, while a big guy never known for having power, hurts the little guy very badly and to the point it completely changed the direction of the fight. It had little if anything to do with fatigue, it was plain and simple size advantage.

Does this makes us reconsider Mcgregor ? I mean, his two best wins are against late replacement Mendes (and his lack of stamina was a big issue in that fight), and an incative Aldo (not to mention that the early ko are the most meaningless win).

Bullshit. Mcgregor looked almost as big as DIaz. HE was way more muscular and toned. Diaz was flabby slim. And the guy fought as a LW less than 3 monts ago. He's not a full fledged welter. COnnor was getting tired cause he used way too much fancy moves, and movements. ANd let's not forget that Diaz had a 2 weeks training camp, so it's not like he was as prepared as he could have been.

You need some real freakish power to hurt a guy like that whos much bigger than you AND has a sturdy chin.

Like some Melvin Manhoef WTF kinda power.

Conor McGregor was the biggest star in the UFC a few minutes ago. This was more than an average win.

Nate has a weakness against strong wrestlers like Benson Henderson and Rafael dos Anjos. I don't know if he'll ever be champion, but he's absolutely one of the best fighters in the world in his weight class. This is the biggest win of his career by far.

Holy shit. What a terrible night for the UFC. Their money fights went out the window.

The outcome of the co-mains had to be Dana's worst nightmare.

This is correct. And it's no small fact that Conor was throwing maximum power into every shot while Diaz was throwing lighter shots in much better rhythm.

And you can slam Diaz for anything you want but he's a straight up killer if he's got you wounded and on the ground.

And just think about what the Rousy defeat did to him.

McGregor will become an average fighter now. He won't get to avoid grapplers anymore and will really be exposed going forward.

This is his biggest win? Over a guy who moved up 2 weight classes and never even proved he could handle 1? Nate must have some shitty to average wins on his resume. I don't think this is any better than his last win other then McGregor being a bigger name. I don't feel it's a big meaningful win for him.

Nate Diaz beat Gray Maynard (the lightweight champion) 3 times, in my opinion. He submitted BJJ black belt Jim Miller, a top 5 lightweight at the time. He outboxed and embarrassed Cowboy Cerrone, a top 5 lightweight then and now. He's proven that he's one of the top lightweights in the world. Conor McGregor is his biggest win by far.

Yeah. Everyone considers Cerrone a killer, yet, Diaz, who was painted up as a bum, battered him from pillar to post, and totally humiliated him.

it does look really bad for McGregor that he lost his first fight where he didn't enjoy a significant size advantage. But while Nate ain't a big WW, he's still bigger than pretty much any lw. Still, I don't see him doing well vs RDA or Numargomedov

Oh please that happened way before Cerrone had established himself. At that point he was an up and coming exciting guy with potential and Nate just put the brakes on him a bit. Had he beaten Nate he would have gotten overrated the same way McGregor did, or the way Rousy did to a lesser extent. We need to see these guys do like Jones, St Pierre or Silva where they hold their titles for years before we start going crazy like we do.

And I don't see Tate keeping the belt long either. She's an average fighter like pretty much all the women. Might be a good time for Dana to go back to not showing women on the cards because that fight was shit. I found myself comparing Holms fight to one of Mayweather's where she was carefully picking Tate apart, only it was much more boring watching it from a lesser fighter.

Cerrone is a killer. There are several killers in the lightweight division. There are a few people who are pretty close to being the absolute best in the world. RDA has been destroying everyone lately. Guys like Pettis, Henderson, Cerrone, and Diaz look like they could take the lightweight title on a good night.
