Marvel Studios has announced that former 'Game of Thrones' actor Finn Jones has been cast as the lead in Netflix next Marvel miniseries Iron Fist. The internet has been set ablaze with this news and many are crying foul as to why a white blonde blue eyed actor was cast as the martial arts expert instead of an Asian actor. Well, for the information of these 'inclusive' and 'sensitive' assholes, the decision was based in trying to be as accurate as possible to the fucking comicbook that debuted 42 years ago: Iron Fist's name is Daniel Rand a freaking Caucasian with blonde hair and blue eyes, not an Asian named Chong Li. I guess some were confusing Iron Fist with Marvel's other Martial Arts expert, Shang-Chi Master of Kung Fu, who is a half-breed Asian that looks like Bruce Lee.

Screenrant just ran a news article that per their sources, the character of Shang-Chi: Master of Kung Fu, will be appearing in the upcoming Netflix series Iron Fist with the possibility of spinning off into his own Netflix series. Makes perfect sense with what Marvel has been doing lately in their Netflix tv division. Daredevil season 2 will showcase Frank Castle aka The Punisher, who might end up having his own series. Jessica Jones introduced Luke Cage aka Powerman who will have his own tv series. The Marvel sources disclosed that they are right now actively looking for an Asian actor to portray Shang-Chi. These characters are part of the Heroes for Hire team in the comicbooks, so makes perfect sense, plus it makes the proposed Defenders team-up series even more spectacular.

For the earlier version of Shang-Chi my favorite actor for the role was always Robin Shou, but since Shou is too old now (55) and the more Bruce Lee-like version is the current one, then I give my vote to Danny Chan.

 

There's a new 9minute trailer that someone put together on the batman vs superman business. I absolutely cannot wait for this film. Man this is going to be a great year for films. Best year so far imo.

 

Honestly I am not hyped at all for this film. I am more eager to watch Doctor Strange & Star Wars: Rogue One.

 

I'm beyond hyped for this film. At the moment I may even be more hyped for this film than I am for captain America civil war. Well it's close anyway.....

 

Doctor Strange is the movie I'm looking forward to most. X-Men Apocalypse looks fantastic. Great year for comic book fans.

 

I just hope they don't disappoint. ray: but I have low expectations for 'Batman v Superman' since the moment they kept adding more Justice League members like in a monthly basis: 'look we got Wonder Woman too!...and Aquaman!...and Cyborg!...and Flash!...and Doomsday!...and Lex Luthor!...and..."

I dunno how they're going to justify the existence of characters like Martian man hunter, aqua man and green lantern. It's tough enough to justify wonder woman's existence ( daughter of Zeus)

 

Much easier to explain away mutants, Spider-Man, super soldiers , billionaire geniuses and even one higher being from a world only accessible through a wormhole.

 

Marvel had these characters introduced in their solo films before pairing them in 'The Avengers'. DC is doing the opposite and I doubt that it will work unless it is a four hours movie.

Let me educate both of you a little bit: on 2005 Captain America comicbook The Winter Soldier was introduced. Bucky Barnes, thought to be dead, was rescued by Soviet Intelligence, was given their own version of the super soldier serum, was brainwashed and trained as a Soviet assassin. Here is a video with all the details, BUT (SPOILER ALERT!!!) if you don't want to find out how 'Civil War' ends, avoid watching this video after the 3:00 minute line, as the fate of The Winter Soldier, if MCU new movie follows the comicbook faithfully, will tell you how things wrap up at the end.

This photos reminds me the scene in the 'Doctor Strange' animated movie (very good by the way) where Doctor Strange, wizard friends and his enemy Baron Mordo joined forces to battle giant demons unleashed in the streets of New York. He put a spell to make all of them invisible to regular folks, unaware of the epic battle taking place among them.

 

Not a 100% replica of the costume, but pretty close to got me sold that this is Doctor Strange. Can't wait for the trailer!

I've been looking forward to Dr. Strange for quite a few years. I don't see how this looks bad, especially without CGI.

Anyway, I'm not to high on the Doctor Strange movie. Just like with Hell Rider I never once read a Doctor Strange comic book because I just didn't find it interesting. I think Doctor Strange has a chance at being Marvel's latest flop or disappointment depending on how the trailer looks.
