I for one hate comedies. You'll never see me go to the cinema to watch a comedy. They are usually stupid and unfunny. Having said that, there have been a couple I like.

My favourite, hands down, is Trading places. Nothing comes even close.

What comedies do you fellas rank highly ?

My FAVORITE comedy is The Great White Hype. I shoulda also put it in the underrated thread.

Considering we're all boxing junkies, it's amazing we don't talk about it more often. It's a fuckin hilarious movie. I would make the argument that it's best comedy of the 90s.

    Let's do it again.

Second only to trading places. Classic film! Bootnie Farnsworth and 40 th street black. Now that I think about it I'm going to go and purchase it forthwith.

"Great White Hype" is pretty fucking good. Mean Mr. Magus is just harboring some dark resentment that there's no highly thought of cult comedic romp out there called "The Big Bleck Bum".

There probably is a movie called that. You're right about it not being a comedy, but something in a slightly different genre.

You don't have to be a boxing fan to think TGWH is funny. Its a funny movie whether you follow the sport or not.

I catch myself watching "Office Space" at least a couple times a year. I don't think there's any other comedy I can say that about.

Not to say it's the best, and I don't even laugh when I watch it anymore. It's just strangely compelling. I don't know if it's Ron Livingstons constant sly smirking face, or just the general who gives a fuckness about it.

Well I watch THE PRINCESS BRIDE a few times a year whenever I catch it on TV...I still laugh during the poison wine scene.

Office Space is okay, but I enjoyed better the underrated and little seen "Cedar Rapids".

Half Baked is my favorite comedy movie of all time. Most people here wouldn't think it's funny.
