I like Murray a lot more. Strange thread.

 

It's like comparing Sandy Koufax to Warren Spahn. Murphy the better prime, but Murray has been more valuable over the long haul.

Murphy obviously has had the higher peak, but his worst work is leagues upon leagues worse then Murrays worst work.

 

Prime it's Eddie no contest. Entire career it's much closer as outside of the voice acting in Shrek, everything Eddie's done has been a gigantic pile of rotting feces since Bush Senior was president.

 

Well hut did specify primes, so why are we even discussing the entire career?

 

Nutty Professor 1 was one of the best comedies of the 90s. The sequel was awful.

Life was also a good movie.

Other than those two, I agree.

 

Not a big fan of the movie itself, but he was good in "Dreamgirls".

For me it's just to gripe about Eddie Murphy. He was a comedy icon that could do it all. Stand up, sketch comedy and film.

Then for whatever reason all of his comedic gold turned into lead and he became a thin skinned crybaby. Such a disappointment.

 

Which goes back to the Bush Sr. administration.

 

Shit, I think you're right. Man I'm getting old. I thought that was a more recent film. Truthfully it's the most recent Eddie Murphy film that I've watched, . Fuck nutty professor, Pluto Nash and the rest of that garbage.

Prime for Prime...Murphy and it's not close....Murray has been okay in a few movies...but the smaller the role...the better he is...if he has to carry a whole movie..except for once or twice...he has bored me to death..
