I think Taylor's speed is a big problem for Brown but I also think his willingness to mix it up is a big problem for himself. Either Taylor survives and wins a contentious decision or he's rocked enough times to win big rounds for Brown and with it, the fight... I'm not sure Brown can get him out of there in 12

Brown was a lot better than Aaron Davis, and even Davis gave Mel some shaky moments late.

Brown might not have been a Trinidad-like puncher, but he had enough pop that he'd get Mel out of there eventually. Taylor's durability was NEVER quite the same after Chavez.

I think Brown stops him circa 10-11, behind on the cards.

P4P was Taylor a better fighter? By far.

I definitely concede it's possible but I also think of how badly Brown was handcuffed by Buddy McGirt's quickness... Buddy was much more careful defensively than Taylor for sure but if his speed could bother Simon that much, I'd imagine Taylor's speed would be pretty beguiling to him

True but the welterweight version of Taylor was less mobile and would be open to Brown's counters.

Brown would be a step behind early but his craftiness, strength and heavy hands could take their toll. Brown wouldn't go into a shell like Davis and Meldrick would be a little too brave for his own good. Brown late after a good scrap.
