Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder

Now what do y'all think? Has this fight changed any opinions?

 

I've always felt Joshua would destroy him, even before last night's KO.

Better schooled fighter. Delivers his punches straight and quick. Ends early IMO.

Wilder has nothing other than size, power, and a big mouth.

 

word. I think Joshua takes him to school and wrecks him.

Joshua has the more traditional style, but Wilder does what works for him. And frankly, even though Wilder has struggled a little, his record from the past fights is solid.

I still pick Joshua too but Wilder is undersold

 

I agree that Wilder is undersold. I don't think Wilder is a bum. Some guys here liken him to Michael Grant or worse...I don't subscribe to that idiotic viewpoint. But Joshua is a better fighter than him.

 

Wilder has taken and passed the bigger test in the form of Stiverne.

 

Whyte will prove to be better than Stiverne. Never rated Stiverne.

 

I don't rate AJ's chin.

Stiverne ate many solid right hands from Wilder, but he took them and fired back. Wilder can punch, of course, but it showed his bombs can be handled. Joshua was buzzed in the second against Whyte, but if his chin was that bad he would have gone down like a sack of spuds like Price did against Thompson.

 

The same can be said for Wilders. Actually, he has been put on queer street by some pretty shitty fighters.

 

Well, if we are going to go by chin, we all know Wlad reigned for years with a jab and grab style to protect his chin.

Tyson Fury has been put on on the deck by a cruiser weight, and others at heavy and he got better over time.

Wilder is a KO waiting to happen. He's just fought nobody who can really put him under serious fire. Dillian Whyte is better than anyone Wilder has fought.

The rest of the heavyweights are suspects. I like Joseph Parker, but his opposition is even worse than AJ's and Wilder's.

I would LOOOOVVVEEEE to say I'm 100% certain that AJ kills this bum, but the jury is STILL out on AJ's chin. If Wilder's bum ass lands big, who knows if Joshua can take it?

Having said that, we KNOW that Wilder can't take AJ's power, and AJ is the far more technically proficient puncher of the two.

Nah, worse fighters have won Olympic Golds. But he definitely did not win that Gold.

 

What I like about AJ is that he has a QUIET cockiness about him. Wilder and Fury have loud mouths cause the two bums know they lack ability.

 

I don't think he did either (although I still maintain he DID beat Cammarelle), but hey, it's happened. I do think he's a much better pro, didn't rate him at all as an amateur.

 

I think Joshua is better

only seen each of them fight a couple of times, but they both look v. poor to me, Joshua got very minimal defence, wilder fights like he just started boxing a few months ago
