The Magnificent Seven remake first look

Not hyped about this politically correct, ethnic inclusive, affirmative action version. I mean the 'Seven' can no longer be mostly white gunslingers (that is so racist!), so now they look like the cast of a CBS tv series with multi-racial actors. We got the black one (Denzel), we got the token Asian (Byun-Hung-Lee), the Latino (Manuel Garcia Rulfo), the ubiquitous white dudes (Chris Prat, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio) and the Native American one probably played by a non-native american actor. I will not be amazed if two them are gay lovers. :twitch:

The native guy is actually native, though.

I predict a 6.2 on imdb.

 

Hollywood is all about 'box-ticking' and pleasing everyone.
I can't blame them: if it was seven white guys, they'd get totally slammed for it.

We all KNOW that the Wild West was dominated by African Americans leading mercenary gangs composed of Chinese, Indians, Mexicans & Irish folks.

I actually think this is going to be epic

 

In the original Yul Brunner was only barely white. He looked as much Asian as he did white Imo.

 

I hope they don't do a 'modern-Hollywood' in which all seven survive.

 

Based on the trailer it might become a hit as it has jokes, deaf inducing sound effects, a stupid rock song and 'Fast & Furious' pace & logic for the short attention span younger audiences.

The original will not be surpassed, though.

 

We going 2 need some Val Kilmer Doc Holliday...and some Johhny Ringo performance here to pull this shit off.....looks like a HOT messy poop....but again it's just a trailer.

 

It has Chris Pratt as the cowboy StarLord.

 

Chris Pratt is the man. He was great in both Guardians and Jurassic World.

 

Watched this last night and isn't too bad!
If you can get over the obvious casting of Black / Chinese / Native Indian / Mexican / Woman inclusions ( which don't make any difference to this movie) it's pretty good & entertainin in its own right.
Good action, great gunfights, just though humor.

In the original Magnificent Seven, the young 'Mexican' gun slinger wiz played ba a German WHITE laddie (Horst Buchholz ) and the bandit leader, Calvera, ba Eli Wallach (who alsae played 'Tuco' in the 'Good, The Bad and Ugly'... so white people complaining should shut their mooths and enjoy the new film.

Welcome to Obama's America...you have to be racially & ethnically inclusive to all minorities even if you are making a movie about Norsemen.

 

I agree that it's silly to have a black Heimdall, but my boy Idris did a good job so surely we can forgive that.

Now a black Superman or Batman or Spiderman or Thor...now that would be unforgivable, even by us black people.

 

The thing is, is it that unfathomable to have a black gunslinger teaming up with a Mexican gunslinger and Native Indian in this movie?

Or was the original ´The Magnificent Seven´ such a product of its time (1960) in not casting minorities for major roles? :dunno:
Furthermore, that movie was pretty much panned and / or luke-warmed received when it was released....its only gained the status it has now, because of the actors who went on to be household names....

 

The current comicbooks Spiderman is a black Hispanic kid, Mike Morales. It is rumored that in the new Spider-Man movie one of the young black actors will be playing this character before he also turned into a Spider-Man.

 

Please don't get me started about this.

Let's discuss the countless times that Hollywood has thrown a cast of ALLLL Anglos in to portray ancient Egyptians.

The answer is pretty obvious. It's always funny to me how white people complain about "inclusive casting" yet never had a problem with Seinfelds version of New York with 3 black people briefly visiting over the course of like 8 years. Well, at least one of them was a lawyer.

This movie was okay. Nothing special.

 

Why should I debate the obvious? God's of Egypt was an exception to the current trend. Take a look at the cast of 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', the only Caucasians are Peter Parker & Aunt May!
