Amir Khan has refused to rule out a switch from boxing to mixed martial arts ahead of one of the biggest fights of his career. The 29-year-old is preparing for his WBC middleweight title clash against Saúl Álvarez in Las Vegas on Saturday. But he's hinted at swapping the ring for the octagon. "My speed would be perfect for MMA, it's hit and move. I wouldn't let anyone get close to me," Khan said. "We have a lot of shows in Dubai," he told reporters. "I was at the last Super Fight League show watching the guys at my weight and I swear, even though I have no experience of MMA, I could have stepped in and done the business. I really thought 'shall I go in there and do something crazy?' Lucky I didn't, I probably would have got banned from boxing. Agreed with Minati. Most those cage fighting scrubs have glass chins and more style than substance. Khan will fit right in.
Won't make too much difference. Khan has already been bounced around in highlight reel fashion a fair few times. He's a game little bastard, if nothing else - he always comes back for more of a hiding. Canelo is a blatant cash-out fight but there is no reason why this silly little dickhead can't make a few more quid fighting other chinny mooks. MTF
Khan is a funny guy, cant see his fighting qualities and resistance translating well to MMA..the combination of low IQ and delusional self-belief is comedy gold however. A reality show involving himself and Victor Ortiz as housemates would be funny in a dumb and dumber way.
Yeha...yeah...but what about the 'bits and pieces' he's been doing that will allow him to excel in MMA? Joint-locks, choke-holds, guards, roundhouse kicks, heel kicks, take-downs, reversals...you all realize he's been doing this as well as preparing for gettng his little Pakistani-heed smashed in next week, right? :nono:
